Funny Behavior - New Layer

Our 7 month old girls are all laying except our last Easter Egger, 'Rona (obviously named). She has been acting goofy the last couple days but her song is beautiful. When I went out to listen last night just before bedtime, she kept looking up at the roofof the hutch like she wanted to get in from outside.

Chuckled at the time, but didn't think anything of it until I went back outside to lock up the run after they all went inside for the night. Rona was nowhere to be found.

Finally put 2 and 2 together.

Bet she lays any day...

Yup. Laddered up and brought her down. Spent the night with her sisters

Wonder why she didn't want to go into coop?
Kinda doubt it's because she's close to laying.

Did she get out of run to get on coop roof?

They free range outside of the run in the afternoon. We usually let them out in aearly afternoon (after the daily fox visit) and leave them out until they go in for the night, then we close up the run. We have a large fenced off open area in the yard around the coop for them to free range.

Whatever it was, she was sure interested in looking up there all evening. No issue since.
