funny but concerned

For several days I have spotted at rat trying to eat the chickens feed. We this morning the rat is dead. The chickens were attacking it and killed it. They were trying to eat it so I disposed of the creature. Would it have hurt them to eat it are my chickens crazy for killing it. Just curious

As long as the rat wasn't poisoned it will be fine. A lot of people think chickens are herbivores, but they are not, they love insects, baby birds(swallow chicks for example), mice, or pretty much anything they can kill themselves
