Here is new mama Daisey with her newly hatched chick. When she went broody, I ran to the neighbors, retrieved four fertilized eggs and set them underneath her. 22days later this little one emerged. She is an only chick and who knows what breed she is!! both parents are mutts.

Oh Thank you! It was breaking my heart that Daisey was sitting on unfertilized eggs! She does love being a mom. I did find out that the biological parents are part "golden comet" so we are naming the baby "Haley"

We thought she was going to be a boy, so we named her Max. But we found out she lays eggs and we named her Maxy She is one out of the 3 silkies we have.
