Funny egg white

Okay, any ideas what this might have been?

I cracked an egg from one of my chickens this morning while making breakfast for the fam, and part of the egg white was solid, like the solid of a cooked egg white.

I collect my eggs daily, they don't sit around long, and I take them from the coop to the carton to the fridge. There was no smell, nothing else about the egg looked funny other than the solid part of the egg white. I should add that it wasn't all solid, just two penny sized bits.

Okay egg experts, what was going on there?

That's new to me. Hopefully someone on here knows the answer. Do you have roosters? Is there any chance it was a fertile egg?

Is it possible the egg sat too close to the stove before you cracked it?

DUH!! I think you totally nailed it, and I feel sooooo stupid!

Remember I said I was making breakfast for the fam? Well I was baking biscuits, and I'd taken the eggs I was going to use and set them on top of the stove. So I'm guessing that the thing that looked a little like a cooked egg white. . .was a cooked egg white! :ing head::

Ah well--the dog liked it, 'cause he got that egg.
