Funny egg

Hey all.
I have had a very strange experience.
My girls lay amazing eggs always and the other day out of the blue when i beoke a yolk open it had what looked and smelt like little balls of grease in it. No joke grease!
Would anyone know what or how this has happened? What its cause may be? Im stumped

Could they have eaten something peculiar? A bit of everything they eat goes into their eggs so if they had some food that had lots of grease (which they shouldn't) or had a strong smell it would cause the odor.

Maybe that hen's 'egg maker' is out of order? LOL
Sorry, no idea what could be going on, but if it were me, I would go back to the old-fashioned habit of always breaking the egg into a separate bowl, in case it's not good.

It's highly unlikely that something the bird ate went directly into the egg.

When you find a n odd egg, it's best to take some pics of it to post here so we can help you identify if it's a one off anomaly or something that needs further investigation.
