Funny horse fallsl

I really haven't had a "fall fall" Yet at least! LOL! I was trail riding with a friend that has TW's and we were cantering along the forest, and all of the sudden he stopped and I went up and slammed back down. He had to of bucked. It was SO WEIRD! LOL! But I stayed on, and no body was injured so......

My first fall off of my paint gelding was when I was practicing opening a gate for a trail class. I was doing good up until I started to leaned over and grabbed the gate. My horse spooked at something and ducked his shoulder and I slid. But this was all in slow motion because I distinctively remember accidently rolling my spur up his belly and as i was coming out of the western saddle I saw the underside of his stomach. I then proceeded to hit the crushed asphalt driveway. I was lucky I had my helmet on that day because I dented it when my head snapped back into the driveway. I was not hurt but sore. and i had multiple witnesses.

One time I was cantering down a dirt road that had a washed out section ahead. Someone had put GREAT roadblocks, only about two feet high, black and red diagonal stripes, across the whole road. I wanted to make sure my horse did not refuse, so I kicked him really hard a few strides before. He took a gigantic leap, and landed before we got the the roadblock and slammed on the brakes. I slid forward and arms and legs around his neck, hanging on underneath, he jumped the roadblock and cantered nearly another quarter mile with me hanging there... and I slid to the ground when he stopped. I think that counts as a fall. Or worst dismount E-VER!

Years (and years) ago, I was taking one of my friends, NOT a big horse person, for a ride. We were riding bareback as I always did then and we were also barefooted. Suddenly she began to slip off the horse and clutched on to me, pulling me off with her. Unfortunately, the place we landed was a big sticker patch! We had stickers in our butts and we couldn't get up with getting them in our feet..... Finally two guys from the gas station across the road noticed our plight and came to help! Most embarrassing!

All my funny falls come from when I was younger, they're not so funny anymore, lol.

My very first fall is a fond memory, lol. I was very little but it's a very distinct memory, hehe. When I was five (couldn't have been much older) I had just learned how to lope my pony. My little western saddle's stirrup (I still have that saddle!) flipped up under my leg as I was bouncing along happy to be loping and not trotting (once I discovered it was smoother to lope, I loped everywhere) and I was trying to fix the flap, but I was just a little kid so I couldn't do it without lifting my leg, the next thing I know I'm standing beside my pony and he's looking back at me as if to say why are you standing there? I trusted that pony til the day he died after that!!

My next fall was on the same pony when I was about 7 or 8, I wanted to lope (remember, I never trotted anywhere!!) and my pony knew better than I did, that we should not be loping in muddy slick-as-snot clay, I was too small to kick him into a lope, and dad wouldn't let me have spurs or a crop, when it wasn't safe to lope, so I'd break off these little tree flexible branches and then I'd throw it away when I used my little 'crop' to get him to go faster, Well this time...he automatically STOPPED! and I went head over heels into the mud!! It's funny now but I was so MAD!!! My dad who had been watching while he was cleaning stalls, teased me so bad....to this day he will still sing "Ain't been a cowgirl, ain't been throw'd, ain't been a cowpony ain't been rode" when I fall off. It always makes me laugh and remember that we all fall off from time to time and all you can do is get back on and ride

Luckily I have never actually fallen, but I have been on a few bumpy rides that I can laugh about now...

On time I was riding this kind of crazy eyed quarter arab, I knew the horse fairly well(enough to know he was a little on the hot blooded side) but I rarely got the opputunity to ride so jumped at the offer. Well just as we were about to take off down the trail the horses owner does something rather stupid, he reaches over and smacks his horse on the rear as we are going...I tell you that horse crow hopped with me on their for about 50 yards(probably less than that...I am really bad with measuring distances), non-stop, lake on one side, ditch on the other...not fun at the moment but some how I kind of think it is today...or at least Ironic(I'm sure for him it was halarious) Needless to say, I finished my lap and NEVER road that horse again...(he has since bucked his crazy owner off multiple time...personally I think they deserver each other

I have a good one. I was riding at night one time with a group of people. It was a full moon and a beautiful night. I was leading the ride and we went into a large field. I have been in this field hundreds of times, both during the day and at night. Well we all take of loping down the middle of the field and my horse was getting kind of excited wanting to really stretch out and run. Next thing I know something jumps into the side of my horse! A deer had been laying down in the grass, when we got right on top of it she decided to get up and run off but she ran smack into my horse! Needless to say both the horse and I got the shock of our lives. My horse jumped straight up in the air and then sideways. I went the other way and ended up with my butt on the ground! After everyone got over the shock of seeing that deer run into my horse we had a pretty good laugh!
