Funny how my girls will not eat kale or collards, but tear up some

mine used to attack me for the collards every morning. I would bring them a huge bushell each day...then they wouldn't touch it? So them I moved onto mustard greens but the collards are so much cheaper for so much more.
I gave them a break from them over summer since they are out everyday and now they will eat them again. I like giving them greens in the winter when there is non in the garden.

I hang any kind of leafy greens from a string in the run, just high enough that they can grab about half way up the leaf. It makes it easiers to tear up and they like the challenge to jump up at it!

Only problem....now they jump up at it while I carry it into the run.... Look like a bunch o' feathered mexican jumping beans! It's hillarious to see them poping up and down as I walk in to tie it up!

Well, I let the collard lay out there for a coupla days and they ended up pecking most of them. I still think they enjoy the spinach so much more.
