Funny pics and stories of chickens

I feel like my chickens do a lot of funny things, but most of them are probably only funny to me!!

I do have two different hens that will come up on my back porch and peck the glass back door to see if I’m around for treat dispensing, little beggars! My other hens will crowd up on the porch, but no one else has figured out to peck on the glass door.

I’ve also got a buff orphington who as a pullet liked to sit on my plants...she sat on a ponytail palm in a pot and crushed all the new growth on it, and she also liked to sit on a cement block that had phlox growing in it. Luckily she grew out of her plant crushing phase, though!

Lol! they are little monsters sometimes! when I feed them treats there is always that one that gets ahold of you flesh and tries to tear it off!!

Oh yeah! We have a bunch of new pullets and we're trying to tame them, and one of the Swedish Flowers, Jasmine, likes my skin much more than the mealworms. I should rename her vampire!

So cute! My chickens stick with the more traditional way of plant killing, via digging up the roots and throwing the dirt in random directions till the poor plant dies of exposure! :barnie:love

I got all of my girls as pullets from the feed store, already 8 weeks old. They are friendly enough, but unless I catch them while they are roosting, they don't let me pet them. However, when I turn my back they start to creep up on me. If I turn around they all slowly strut away like they know they got caught. They also like to peek in through the back door.View attachment 1480442

Ignore the giant mess of pool toys... but this is what ours do right at dinnertime! They wait for scraps at the back door. :lau

What an awesome mixed flock, though! They would probably be little bowling balls if my mom got a hold of them, she can't resist giving out treats!:gig
