That's so true. Too many people get animals without researching, or sometimes when they do 'research', they only listen to what they want to hear. I researched for about a year before I got quails (Maybe a little overkill ). There's been plenty of animals that I've wanted but decided they weren't for me. For example, partridges. I wanted to get some, but found out that they were really aggressive and they kill each other, so I didn't get them (I got bobwhites and california quails instead).

I wish everyone would do their research before getting ANY animal. Heck you might think poodles are cute, but are they right for you? How many dogs end up in the pound because the people didn't do their research before getting one?

I researched for about half a year before getting into chickens. I refuse to get into a venture without doing my research first.

This happens A LOT with parrots. They are the third most popular pets in the world, but the number one most rehomed pets. This is because too many people get them without researching. They get a cute, cuddly, baby cockatoo, but then it grows up, screams, bites, plucks, destroys things and what do they do?...Rehome it.

This is the same with heaps of other animals too. There are always dogs, cats, parrots and plenty of other animals in rescues, because people don't know what they're in for when they get them. Whether it's a tiny king quail, or a giant peafowl, do your research before you rush out and buy them, because you might find they're not for you, and that won't be good for you or the animal.

I did not know you could raise California Quail! Some things you don’t even think about researching until something new is mentioned. I find it hard to understand local law and regulations in regards to specific species. Down the rabbit hole I go!

I decided to join this website after all the research I did on here before I got started with my quail. I like to learn everything I can about different subjects or products before I get started with or buy them. Since joining, I have enjoyed being able to help others with issues or questions when I can.

It's unfortunate that people impulse buy eggs/animals that require a certain amount of responsibility without even looking in to what it takes to take proper care of them.

Here recently. I think I've watched every single video on youtube about raising rabbits, lol. Already drew out how I'm going to build their housing. But I think I'm going to wait until after the South Alabama summer heat before I get started with them....
