Funny story........

This Sunday will be 2 weeks since my EE roo realized he had a voice. He is really, really, REALLY perfecting it.... and LOUD!!!!! I already warned the neighbors it is coming and if its too much, please come to me about it. So DH was on his way home for luch today and he could hear it from a mile away!!!!! Have you ever heard that some Roo's can really belt out a "cock-a-doodle-doo" over all the rest??? Well, thats my boy, the loudest Roo in the northeast. As if thats not bad enough......ALL 4 of my dogs were in the screen porch HOWLING back at the roo. Well this just egged (pun intended) the roo on to keep crowing.....over and over and over and over and over......seriously!!! All the while 4 dogs howling and howling and howling. He was coming down the road thinking OMG!!!!!! He called to tell me and it was another 5 minutes before the rooster shut up. The dogs stopped when he came in. Holy Smokes....only me!!!!

I think when they finally find their voice they really like to show off. Wish we had video of the dogs howling w/ roo. I have a SL Wyandotte (surprise) roo. I really love him. How old are your chickens?

Well the proud roo is about 19-20 weeks. All 10 of my big chickens are between 19 and 21 weeks old. Then i have some EE and silkie bantams between 7 and 9 weeks. So much fun. how about yours? Mine was a surprise roo also. As was one bantam roo. I also thought he was showing off at this point as he has gotten way better.

My Roo starts in when it hears a dog bark and when the fire dept goes by with the siren on! But the neighbor and I laugh because he'll start losing his voice and sounds soo funny!

All my chickens and 1 turkey are 22 wks old. I have 6 RIR hens, 5 Araucanas hens, 4 SLW hens and 1 SLW roo. yes, I love these chicken sooo much. I'm really having alot of fun with them. Oh yea! I have one bronze breasted turkey??????Don't know if it's a he or she? The roo really cracks me up. He struts and is so talkative. The only time he wasn't funny was when he crowed at about 4:30 am, woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep.

Have you posted pics of yours yet? You know everyone on here likes to see pictures of other peoples chickens......lots of them

I hope to post pics soon. My computer died... It was a Dell and now I'm using one of husband's old Mac Apple laptops and can't figure out how to change pictures to a smaller size to post them. I think this computer needs to be defragged. It's frustrating!
