So is the Havo Bator a set it and forget it type of thing? It says it is digitally controlled. Any one running a 1588? Pros? cons? What is the head space like for chicks once hatched? Input needed!!!!!

I used the hova bator 1588 for my last hatch - all silkies. It worked fine. I didn't need to do much at all with it. I had a thermometer / hygrometer and the circulating air fan as well as motorized egg tray. That meant i didn't need to open it except to candle now and then. but I've only used it that once. Going to get it up and running tonight though - I have a few hens sitting on eggs that I didn't expect to have (my only roo - a bantam - has figured out how to fertilize my LF easter egger girl) - i want to have it ready incase the broodies decide to stop being broody. I guess that's what I get for getting lazy and not collecting eggs for a few days :)
I figured I'll have more when I get back from vacation. I'll be gone for 9 days - wonder what they'll look like - BBS Silkie x easter egger. Hmmm. There are 4 that were developing, three have movement, but one I think died.
