Future Dream with Chickens

I had to rehome the one rooster i really wanted to keep because he was so beautiful. But with neighbors so close i didn’t want cops showing up

You could have asked them if they minded. Surely the police wouldn't have 'turned' up just to take a chicken away. They have better things to do.

It’s just the worst feeling! I live where they’re allowed…if your lots are over 10,000 sq ft. So it’s okay to have them but like you said, all it takes is someone complaining to make life difficult I have 19 chickens and two roosters and I don’t want to tempt fate! I spend a lot of time thinking about my dream set up and all the beautiful animals I will have!

Oh trust me, you would be surprised. Yes cops have better things to do but if someone calls for a noise complaint, the cops will show up. It happened to my friends dad that had a rooster

We don’t have a limit even! Just a lot size requirement…10 for an acre?? Sheesh! That’s hardly anything!

Yes I know, it’s terrible Luckily none of our neighbors even know we have 4 hens in the backyard!

I’m making this thread to hear what your dreams are for your flock or a future flock.

For me, one day I want a very big farm where my chickens can free range and I can have a big chicken coop! I hope that I can sell the eggs I get or have a stand out front with eggs to buy. I dream of the day where i don’t have to worry about neighbors hearing the chickens and i can have as many as i want!

My Dad wouldn't do that. That's for sure. He has much better things to do. (He is a police officer.)
