Hey guys!
I have a broody duck sitting on a clutch of 9 eggs right now. When they hatch, I will likely be able to keep at least 1, possibly 2 since we have the stuff to expand the run, but I'll have to see. I have a friend who can take 4-5 of them, but I will still have a couple that will need homes.
About the ducks-

-They'll be mixed breeds. Currently in my flock I have, A Buff/Swedish blue crossed drake, and a White crested/Swedish blue crossed drake. Then I have A buff female, two White crested females, two Mallards (one of them, Pinecone, is the momma duck). Then, I have a couple cross breed that I hatched last year from the flock. One Mallard/Buff/Swedish blue hen, (she hatched from a Mallard egg, the other mixes are coming from the Buff/Swedish blue drake.) And a Buff/Swedish blue crossed hen. (She hatched from a Buff egg, the Buff/Swedish bleu being the father. )

- They are kept in a large run morning and night but get to free range on 8 acres of yard and forage for most of the Summer, and when we are here in the winter. Yes, the run is a bit muddy, and we are currently working on fixing that since we're in a super rainy climate. They have a nice clean, dry and large Dogloo for shelter, and a large dog kennel. We're working on getting walls on the night areas, that contain the Dogloo and the crate, but haven't gotten around to it. They have a nice pond and are fed All natural Non-GMO Kalmbach flock maker.

-The parents are very scared of me. Despite my efforts to be friend them, its likely the ducklings will need some time with you to gain trust before they will be social at all.

About the homes-

-I would really, really prefer that they went to a home that wouldn't kill the drakes. That would be the best possible scenario for me. If that I can't find enough no kill homes then I have a friend up here who can take them, but isn't opposed to killing drakes.

I wont be giving the away until they're juveniles. Since momma worked so hard raising them, and hatching them, it only seems fair to me that I let her raise them.
They are planned to hatch on mothers day, there for It'll be a bit before they're ready to go to good homes.
I'm willing to drive to Bothel to send them to good homes, but really would prefer somewhere close so they wont be so stressed.
I live in about 45 minutes past Bellingham.
Pictures of parents coming, if you have any additional questions please ask here, or on a PM. Thank you!

@KaleIAm?
Your the first member that came to mind when thinking of duck owners not to far from me. :D If not, totally understandable.
Thank you so much for thinking of me. 💖 As much as I would adore some ducklings, and I would, so so much, I have a closed flock for biosecurity purposes. No birds in no birds out. My flock has infectious bronchitis. :( I couldn't possibly expose babies to that.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your flock, that must be devastating.
I thought I would tag you since I knew they would have amazing homes if you could take some. Thats alright though, hopefully I'll find them good homes soon, and maybe even closer so they wont have to travel so far. Thanks for the quick reply! ☺️

I cna post pictures of last years hatch as well. I luckily had room for those hatchlings, but these guys I won't.
A few pics I have on hand-

Above is Rose. She's a brightly colored Mallard/Buff/Swedish blue cross, Buff/SB coming from our drake. She's more orange then in this picture, and since this was taken she has developed lightly colored Mallard stripes on her face. She lays large blue eggs. 🥰

Above is Axle and his sister Aussie. Axle, the dark grey duck with the feather on his head is a Buff/Swedish Bule/White crested cross. He came out crestless, hence the feather. Him and his dad are the mellowest drakes I have ever had. They are easy on the hens which is a trait I haven't seen in many drakes.
Aussie, the light grey duck behind him, is a Buff/Swedish Blue mix. Her color is beautiful, and she lays large white eggs. Hope the pics help!
