Sorry about the chick you lost. Glad to hear the other one is doing ok. Woke up this am to a pip. Round 2 has begun. Just about to start a post. Oh and yesterday we put 24 more in the bator. I am going to lose my mind. We have 7 hatched, 1 pipped, 5 others in lockdown, 4 more to go in lockdown tomorrow, 14 more to lockdown march 27, and 24 just set. lol No idea what I am gonna do with all these chicks. Decided not to switch roosters. We will have plenty of chicks. Good luck with the rest of your hatch. Sure you are waking up to lots of sweet little peeping angels.
20 of them, all told. One of mine never pipped, and 5 each of the two different BCM's never pipped. Today is the beginning of day 22 so I think I'll leave them in there for another day or two. Thing is, I just got a shipment of Lavender Orpington eggs yesterday and I really need to set them...
Oh, and the thermometer to my bator appears to have a dead battery. It quit on me for no apparent reason this morning, but it did so in a way that indicated a dying battery.
