Fuzzy's Farm

Poo on the feather legs. Is there a breed that has extra toes that doesn't? I have the d'uccles with the feathers, and i am thinking i don't want any more than that. It's cute in theory, but reality is they are poop tracking machines! I read that feathered feet are hard to breed out too, since it's a dominant trait.

I am thinking about doing a painting of my pair i lost. I have done watercolors before, but i usually do them while the animal is alive, so i can capture the expression in their eyes............. I am going between doing it myself and waiting and saving for a byc'er to do it. She will do it from a pic, and she's one of the few artists i've seen that actually get the eyes right. Idk though, now they are gone it may be too personal for someone else....... This is a little painting i did of my parakeets

Wow so pretty .. im not talented like that ... i am more a writer ...

This is the gal on here that paints, https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...le-etc-also-prints-and-originals#post_7994676

i wish i could do oils. I need to work on doing sheer color, i think it is more realistic that way. My yellow girl i drew and painted in half an hour, it just flowed. The green boy took days, and months to get his expression right. He was a toughie! So excited all the time. I think why i wasn't pleased with his color over all is because although he was that bold a color, i think i should've built it up to that intensity.

I may wait for being able to get a bigger and better paper, also i need to be able to soak the paper and "stretch" it first, which i didn't do for the keets. So the paper is rumpled. I don't do art very often, i have to be in the "right' mood or it won't come. Usually i have an adult beverage and kinda try to find my zen. :)

Oh no! Not the duck song!!!!!! My friend showed me that once and I'm ruined......

Vonna needs a saddle... Her pin feathers start to come back in, and then they get broken off again. I am tempted to confine her away from Mr. Man for a week... Heck, I'd not think he'd be mating on her right now since she is molting, but, what can I expect... the male is all about hisself... LOL
