Orientation went well, it was so looooong. I had to go after to order my uniform shirt . I did good with the outfit, wore the same top i interviewed in with some dressy jeans. Clothes, i know. But this is the part where i make my boss look good, she is a new hire as well so pressure's on! Tomorrow i go to get my schedule and then the fun starts. I have one more string of office people to meet, then the kitchen crew.

I eased my tension last night by baking, i tested another version of my plain cake :) This time it was the charm. So now i have the chocolate down, and the plain/ vanilla, now on to the berry cakes................. or sour cream...................... Really i wish that i could find a GOOD frosting recipe that halfway resembles the canned. I really like canned better than homemade when it comes to frosting.........hmm. I don't even know what i'm gonna do when i get done with this book, i've been working so long on it!!!

Don't ya just hate when they take ALL. DAY....

Um... find an editor and publish. OR, Sell it online in printable format... A lot of people are doing that now to avoid the printing costs and the cuts that publishers take. Get the dough up that way, and then pay for hard copy.

I will need a professional food photographer at some point :)

Gotta go, i have to go let the brats out to play. Too nice, i'm gonna get chickencussed, lol

For many publishers you don't have to have the entire book completed. If you decide to go book format instead of online go to the library or a big bookstore and look at this year's edition of the Writer's Market. It will have a nonfiction section that lists all the publishers who do cookbooks. It will also tell you their addresses, websites and whether they want chapters and/or query letters. When you have found several publishers who put out cookbooks similar to yours, go to their websites and look at their submission guidelines. Most will want a query letter and sometimes an outline, table of contents or sample chapters. You can find some good examples of query letters online -- search 'query letters for cookbooks' or 'cookbook query letters'. Then you send off your query letter to the publishers you have selected and wait, wait, wait until you get some responses. You may have to query several publishers before you find one interested. Be sure your letter is very 'clean'. Also, look in a bookstore or on Amazon at cookbooks similar to yours and find out who published them. Then query them.

Online ebook publishing is much different.
