So, how would you guys dispose of a dead chicken? I've only buried bantams in the past, and my dad's always dealt with the big girls by putting them in the creek. But Pippi was too special for that.....not to mention the creek is DRY. Digging a hole is going to be hard because of this really rocky soil and it being so dry......... So, would burning her be the best option? It won't smell bad will it? Me and my dad could go do it in the morning..........I'm still going to make a little marker for her and put it in my pet cemetery anyways, out of respect........

No, it won't smell bad. Burn barrel if you have it. We've done several dead birds that way.

OK, I think that's (burn her) what I'll do then. We have a bunch of twigs and stuff that need burned anyways, so I thought we would just cover her in them and.......yeah.

You can just compost, too.  

No compost pit (pile, etc). . My dad won't build one...........

My DH buries any I lose at the bottom of the compost, but I buried my red pyle roo, Gomer, in a box out beyond the yard when I lost him.
