well. two of my baby quail are dead/
all for no fault of their own.
Someone in my house turned off the incubator. Perhaps the alarm was beeping and they wanted it to stop. Someone very selfish.

No it was not an accident. You have to manually flip a switch to turn it off. Temps were 70 in there when I found it. And two dead babies.
Of course SOMEONE didn't realize they were killing the quail. Of course SOMEONE didn't bother asking me how to shut off the alarm. Of course, SOMEONE just thought of themselves and not any consequences and how much the critters mean to ME- how there is something lacking here- respect for me, mom, wife- and that MAYBE just maybe turning off something I have turned on just might be a bad idea.
And of course everyone will say, Wasnt Me...
and aw poor quail.
And then they wont think nothing of it again.

I will though. Makes me just want to give everything away, just hand over my paycheck every two weeks and have absolutely nothing here that may interfere with any of them.

Kind of a side to "mom 2em all" that you all arent used to seeing, huh?
too bad that I actually feel that way right now.

Ugh, sounds like something my dad would do. I can't tell you how many times chicks have frozen because the heat lamp gets turned off, because "it's too hard to watch TV with it on".

There's no excuse for something like that.

I was outside with the girls. I love how Bird runs up to me like I am the best thing ever...just about when she gets to me she says, "Oh crap! What am I doing?" And then backs up.

I need to clean my house and I need the million leaves raked in my backyard. I cant rake. It hurts my shoulder so bad. I feel like a broken human, but I cannot do it.
Ive no extra money to pay my kids to do it- so I guess they will sit there. But if they DO, I will pay a neighbor kid to rake them up next week. Yep, Ill offer a neighbor money to do yard chores before I pay my kids to do them if they dont do it out of the kindness of their hearts. If they DO rake on their own- and not angry, I will throw them some spending money next week. Make sense?

sounds like a deal! Shoot, I don't get money for anything I do around here....

I want to build one of these for the chickens

I built something like that with my cousins when I was eight. We laid a bunch of straight branches and sticks up longways, then made "rope" by braiding corn husks and bluestem. We used the rope to weave the branches together, then leaned it against a tree that was fallen over. We made a whole shelter deal. But then it flooded like three days after we finished and it was all gone. I wish I had pictures, it was really awesome.

Good Morning everyone.

I am tired. Why isnt there a sleeping smiley? Theres one on my phone- I send it to Robin, they need one here.

Waiting for my coffee to kick in, then shower then managers meeting notes then work.

I put a venison roast in the crockpot. I need to wash and cut up potatoes and add them as well. Kaylas dr appt today at 4. I cant forget that one. Darn- well at least dinner will be done when we get back. They- meaning the boys and hubby- better not eat it all before we get back. I seem to have adopted another boy/manchild.

The wind last night had fun putting leaves down where we raked. Oh well, at least it wont be as bad as it was. I betcha that Bird and Chicken Little enjoyed having the plexi-glass up in the windows last night. They roost on the little shelf in front of one of the windows instead of on the roost. It puts them up higher than any other chicken and makes them virtually invisible to any critter that may break in. But, it was a drafty place to be. I winterized them yesterday. Husband says anyone who doesnt get their pre-winter chores done this week will be sad next week. That is why I took away the fence from the Showgirls- so they can get used to the idea of cohabitating. *right the duccles wont let anyone else in their coop-little do they know they are going with Robin in a week*

No seizures last night.
