Fuzzy's Farm

My d'Anver roo is acting weird. :( I think he cut the roof of his mouth. There's a streak of blood running down his throat.

If it's blood perhaps soft foods, like oatmeal and cooked eggs. There is also a worm called a gapeworm that lives in the throat, so look very close and be sure, since that is red too. Sometimes the male and female worm will link and stay, so they can look like a "v" or a "Y". Those will suffocate a bird, so serious!  The birds affected will shake their head to try to dislodge the worm, much like they do if they have lice.

I think i might have my sister come and take me to the hospital after I put the birds away.
:hugs

Thanks, fuzzy. I looked it up, I went out to do the Q-tip test but he was not excited about that. Of course, he's fine letting me look earlier, now, nope. He doesn't have any trouble breathing........ I dunno, but he was sleeping normally tonight, instead of sprawled out. I moved him from the roost to a kennel, he was upset but I think he would've just fallen right off. He still scratches and pecks and preens normally. I haven't looked at his poop because he's been with everyone else today. I'll look in the kennel in the morning. He doesn't act really lethargic, except after he crows. I bet it hurts him, poor baby. I'll try the Q-tip again in the morning and we'll see........

Well, I have puked my guts out again. My back has quit hurting, that band around my center has loosened. I think the stone has passed. OMG that was awful. Now, believe it or not I am hungry. 15 hours was hello. I am going to broth it for the next few days and up the peppermint tab and milk thistle back to 3 times a day instead of once. When I was taking 3 times a day it really made a difference. But I figured it has been so long since I had an attack, I could cut it down. GUESS NOT!

I am so tired. I am going to bed, Have a good night all.

I missed my kids parent teacher conference.

some one shoot me...

silver, stay safe.

Pi, have no idea...

I think i might have my sister come and take me to the hospital after I put the birds away. This pain is not going away even with pain pills, and I am sick and tired of puking. I can't even take a deep breath and if feels like a band is strapped around my stomach under my breast and back and is just tighter and tighter... I haven't had a gall bladder attack last so long...

Despite it all, I did get the last wall finished on the summer coop. It is completely enclosed. I even put plastic up on the west facing run for a wind block. I was hoping to have enough to the north facing also, but nope. Will buy another roll in the next day or so, then start the roof.

God I hurt.

Nova-

you could have a duct blocked by a stone. Thats a medical emergency- you wil be in a world more of hurt if that ruptures. GO. Prayers from us to you- go and report back when you can.

Silver- it looks awful on the teevee.
That's what I was thinking, too. You basically described what got me in the hospital for mine.

LOL, I was reading too quickly and saw the second one for silver and was like 'what? what'd I do?' Sorry. This teevee doesn't watch actual teevee, but I know the storm is huge so stay safe silver.

Nova, please be careful. It could have passed, but you could have also only dislodged it from blocking the duct and still have it in you if the stone is too big. Either way, take care and I agree that broth (and tea) sound like a plan for a few days.

OMG. Is cold! Is super freakin' cold! My toes are just like ice and my little space heater is hardly taking the chill out of my room. These are the days I wish DH had selected better and found a house that was not so darn wind porous. Brrr! It was so windy today even the chickens refused to brave it. My daughter was worried about them when she came home today because normally they're all over the yard, but not a one to be seen today. I honestly don't blame them.

Nugget seems to be SLOWLY getting better. I went to check on him this afternoon and he was preening his wing and sitting up. This sounds silly, but I put a brick in the wash tub with him and if he starts to tip over, he can catch himself on it and stand back up. By stand up, I mean he is sitting on his shanks. However, I have not found him upside down in a while.

His neck seems to be letting go of the tention, and he can peck with much more ease.
I hope I am not over dosing him on Se, and, I hope to be able to leave water in the tub with him without him kicking it over. I left him with it tonight... we will see in the morning. If it does spill it will drain out and the heat lamp will keep him warm.
OH and here is the most exciting part!!!! He has started talking again!!! He hasn't made a sound in weeks, and this weekend he has started up again. "Herrrrrr. Herrrrrk!' Mostly when I talk to him.

He was my runt that wanted to sleep with me.

Everyone else is doing really good. No eggs but they seem like happy chickens. They got some pumpkin guts today... all they wanted was to get out and rummage in the huge leaf piles we made this weekend.

Dig to China, they will!
Glad I cleaned the coop this weekend!

This wind is no fun! Plus it is really cold!
