Fuzzy's Farm

Safe safe Silver-
if anyone ever gets the chance to buy a power inverter- you should. I have one. I plug it in the vans cigarette lighter, then it has an outlet for a wall plug. The main reason is because of stupid power failures and incubators.

certainly you cannot run your vehicle indefinitely, but it helps to keep temps from dropping drastically.
If you can keep your temps up and the babies hatch well, keep them in the closed incubator. Remember they can go three days without food, and you can preserve your temps inside better than in a brooder.

My d'Anver roo is acting weird. :( I think he cut the roof of his mouth. There's a streak of blood running down his throat. Whenever he crows it sounds like he's being attacked by a hawk or something. Then he kinda hunches over and stays for a second before he straightens himself out. My first thought was wry neck but he can stand and walk fine most of the time, it's right after he crows that he acts like it hurts. He's not eating. Does anybody have an idea of what I can do to make him feel better or what he can eat that won't hurt? I feel so bad. He's my Baby Boy..........

some one shoot me...

silver, stay safe.

Pi, have no idea...

I think i might have my sister come and take me to the hospital after I put the birds away. This pain is not going away even with pain pills, and I am sick and tired of puking. I can't even take a deep breath and if feels like a band is strapped around my stomach under my breast and back and is just tighter and tighter... I haven't had a gall bladder attack last so long...

Despite it all, I did get the last wall finished on the summer coop. It is completely enclosed. I even put plastic up on the west facing run for a wind block. I was hoping to have enough to the north facing also, but nope. Will buy another roll in the next day or so, then start the roof.

God I hurt.

nova i hope you get to feeling better... we do have car chargers for phone and pc in case of emergency ... phone is charging again now and pc will be charging as soon as i go back in off the porch ..... Tell you if they hadnt tarped it i would be going crazy for a smoke cause i wouldnt be able to come out here....
all the tarping and plastic came off the chicken pens but they are hiding in the coops and hoping that is enough in this wind and rain ... recorded gust of 62 in the small town next to us where the post office is ..... sandy should cross over us between 11 and 2 ..... the worst of it is going to be in the next hour or so they say .. lights have flickered more than once but thank god holding so far !!!! ill update as i can ..... going back in to charge and rest ... gonna be a long night .!!!!

Nova-

you could have a duct blocked by a stone. Thats a medical emergency- you wil be in a world more of hurt if that ruptures. GO. Prayers from us to you- go and report back when you can.

Silver- it looks awful on the teevee.

Hi Robin. its freakin cold out there.
i have a funny story.
I went out to check on Frannie- and she was digging in the leaves. I said, "Hi new birdie". She told me off in chicken language, went to the coop and hopped inside the pop door.

She was either saying, "Leave me alone, stranger- you are bothering me" or she said, "Oh no you dont- Im not going back, I like it here".

hahahahahaha I havent decided yet,

If it's blood perhaps soft foods, like oatmeal and cooked eggs. There is also a worm called a gapeworm that lives in the throat, so look very close and be sure, since that is red too. Sometimes the male and female worm will link and stay, so they can look like a "v" or a "Y". Those will suffocate a bird, so serious! The birds affected will shake their head to try to dislodge the worm, much like they do if they have lice.

I think i might have my sister come and take me to the hospital after I put the birds away.
