Good info fuzzy! I think I had a Campine roo with shaft lice around August. Or head lice..... He had so many eggs on the back of his neck.........I smothered them in Sevin and vaseline and the adult lice were gone within hours, and the eggs never hatched. They turned black within a few days, then the feathers with eggs on them turned black, then they all fell out one day. He still hasn't grown them back but he acts way more energetic than he used to. I can't believe how long it took me to notice......I just thought he was laid back.......but no one else except my Faverolle was affected. Soooooooooooooooo, yeah, I dunno.I added this useful link to the worming and lice/mites section, sorry i haven't been working on my notes lately! Soon my hours will drop and i will be able to finish that section! This outlines each type of worm and whatnot, tells what med in particular has been used successfully to treat.
I actually finally found out what louse i'm dealing with here, it's the shaft louse! Not that it makes a huge difference, but i like to know my enemy

Glad wind is going down. Downed tree = firewood. I can see one tree down in the front of my woods, I'm not going back to look for more until the wind you are sending our way is gone.
MsB do you have one of those coal miner head lamps? It might make it easier to look down his throat and free up your hands
