Guess everyone has went to bed so i will go too for the night .. and dream of pups and chicks and ferrets lol and cold i know its got to be cold there !!! lol

Hi all. Just catching up here as work has been crazy. I love the poof head babies Amhuska. Too cute.
Awwww, ferrets... I used to have a couple and they are the funniest, greatest personalities ever. I'd have some now if I didn't have four dogs that would love a ferret for supper. grrrrr. They all tried to eat a skunk last night. Thankfully, Mr. Skunk was on the other side of the fence and although standing up with his tail in the air, didn't spray anyone. I'm counting myself lucky on that one.
So we now have our first broody. I believe one of my cuckoo marans is broody and has decided that her life depnds on hanging out in the lowest nest box. Is there anything I should do/not do if we aren't raising babies? Do I just let her 'sit it out'? Or should I dissuade her by blocking her favorite box? This broody thing is new to me.

GIGI- If you don't want her to raise chicks, then break her. Throw her out of the box continuously. Put her up on the roost every night... There is also the cage trick... Put her in a wire cage, with a fan blowing on her from the underside. Good for you the weather is warm, or this might be more difficult. Some people have done a cold dip, not a complete body dip, but a cold butt dip... Yeah.. I shiver thinking on the one. LOL, think a cold shower.
Silver... LOOK! SILVER! Anyway, you have a serious problem. I am thinking a shrink may be able to help you out with your nail polish problem. I think you using your little serema hen as a crutch/excuse is unacceptable. Shame on you. NOW, if this were a shoe problem, I'd be more sympathetic, and tell you just to send your excess to me. But polish? I have one, yes ONE bottle. ONE! LOL. You lucky dog, getting your DH to get creative with your manicures... Does he do pedi's too? And I don't mean on the chickens either.
MsB... You need to stop encouraging her. AND when you see a hen and think, "Oh, I should repaint her nails," you need to stop and smack yourself. Face in the direction of PA and stick out your tongue and then go on your way. Where are the new chick pics?

Mom, I got pics coming of your grandchicks. Although now I am thinking that the white that I thought was part faverolle, I think is full silkie after all, only pink skinned. You will see why. Shes starting to look partridge maybe?.... And the blue and buff, is starting to look buff and blue. There are more curly feathers on this crew than the bunch from Roger and Leila's chicks. SO, you can tell me if that is something you've seen with her offspring. Need to edit and crop, then will post.

Did your hen make it through the night Nova? When is your appointment? I am very anxious to find out what is wrong.

LOL Its hard to find shoes in my size or id probably have a shoe issue too ... thru with new polishes for now that is for sure... DH would prob do the mani too but I am not changing my toes yet.. my niece and nephew did them before i left ga and i will let them wear off before I redo them ....
