My oldest DD just did a couple of paintings with the new art and canvas kits she got for Christmas. She's more of a draw-er than a painter, but I think she did really well considering she's never had any formal training for painting.

She just did this one the other day. Didn't use anything for picture reference, just her imagination.

And this is one of her drawings. She kind of gave him a cartoonish look because she draws mostly in that format. Can you guess who it is?

Holy moly! Those are crazy mad skills!

OH MY GRACIOUS! Johnny Depp is a perfect subject for portraits. His face has so much fun character! AND he is playing Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie! Saw the preview for it. Man, that's just funny!

I am going to upload my video to my photobucet account and then post the link here... Excuse the funny looking girl in the vid... LOL

AND I think she's done a marvelous job with her imagination. One of these days I will get around to putting up my self portrait... I gave myself blue eyes in it, just for funzies.

ANYWAY, I am working on a painting for my mom... I will have to get your opinions later if I need/should adjust something. I hope my mom likes it... I mean my Bio mom. We aren't that close really, and I have no idea what to get her, so I figured what the hey. She likes the ocean...

Nova, your video wouldn't play for me. Kept saying not found although I saw the photo of you with the play button. My DD does self portraits a lot. She's only tried a serious one once or twice, but mostly does them as cartoons. Cartoon Sami is so freakin' adorable. (real Sami is too!) I'll have to see if I can find one.

cf4l, I like your dog and I think you did a very good job on him.
