Fuzzy's Farm

k. weekend then.

I may go to the sat auction for a minute, not to buy but to look. VERY quickly to see if they are still running silkies. I'm not buying, getting prices . That and cochins, keeping an eye on what's coming and what prices are ranging. Always good to know in the event that i do continue on with chickens.

i forgot to say earlier, yesterday when cleaning the coop i found one of those double sized eggs! It was laid by my EE cookie, the green egg layer. :)

Dean Koontz... My favorite book from him was about the boy who could move through dimensions... Walk where the rain wasn't. I can not remember the name of it though. AND the one where there was the rapture, and then the rest were sorted... The dogs were protectors... I think it was the longest night... I don't remember. There are some that I do not even attempt, to disturbing, and then there is Odd Thomas... I mean, who doesn't love Odd Thomas? They should make movies. LOL, or a series! Yes! And I was very disappointed in the last 2 installments of Frankenstien. The first books were so good. I think he just rushed the last ones...
That is 'From The Corner of his Eye' and I loved that book. And the other is 'The Taking' and I can tell you it gave me the heebie-jeebies. I like the Odd series, but had fallen behind without knowing it until a few weeks ago when I saw the newest one at the library and then I realized I missed a book, so I'm reading it now. I've read some others, but can't remember them well except 'TickTock' and 'The Door To December'.
did they rebuild your engine or something?????
What did they do???? I would be very suspicious, that isn't normal!!
No. They are just extraordinarily slow and thorough. Which is good and we like the service they have done before for us. There was a lady in there when I got there who was getting an oil change, too, and she didn't leave until an hour later.

Well... I know I read the longest night too... Think that was the one with the golden retrievers then... Gah! So many Koontz' can't remember all the titles!
Guess I aught to get my rear to bed. Going to take the boys to the library and DeAnna's place tomorrow. Its an indoor play house. Jace is getting a bit big for it now, but they've got so many different things in there. Music room, art room, play stores, stages, dress up, puzzles, blocks, track... Even a sensory room. And a little cafe area that parents can sit and chill while the kids do what ever. They get there play on, I get to read and drink coffee. Yup.

Anyway, have a good nite all.

Yeah, saw that one at Hobby Lobby actually, or off the R&L store. I found several stores that have quite the variety. BUT he wants chickens, and only chickens. He doesn't want the farm one that has cows, horses, chickens... the chickens are little. He wants a CHICKEN. LOL

Rusty, sorry I was on and off quite quick this morning. It was shaping to be a bad day when I looked out and saw the snow. The roads in Holland were ok, the roads in the sub divisions in Zeeland were not.

I went to get some Allstock Sweet feed from FFH, and I couldn't find any. I could find this one that said it was for goats, was a sweet feed, and the front of the bag had a cow, sheep, alpaca and a goat on it. 16% protein... is that the same thing? The reason I want it is as a green replacer for the winter, throw it in the pen as a winter treat, or put it with their regular feed like I do the corn...Supposed to have alfalfa.. Anyway, I read about it on another forum... Robin, you know which one... There are a few persons over in New England area using it as a supplement along with their regular feed, kinda like a winter treat. Figure 50# of that is a lot cheaper than 50# of salad ya know....

I also had a score of sorts at Meijer tonight. Picked up suet peanuts and raisins that were on clearence. Grabbed the last two bags they had. Chickens didn't knwo what to make of it at first, then it was gone... SO apparently, it was a nice before bedtime snack.

I got attacked today by the neighbors rooster. I was walking a few of his girls back in the dark, they had come over to visit, they had heard me whistling for my birds to come down off the roost and get some mac and cheese. Anyway, I am walking them home and their freaking stud cakes rear attacked me. I have a cut on my lower calf, and one on my ankle just above where my shoe sits. I tell you, I kicked that crap out of that boy as gently and firmly as I could, but he would not stop! I finally caught him between my legs, which could lead to a whole slew of umm... jokes. SO there I stand, a rooster stuck between my knees, a bag of suet in my one hand... I put the bag between my teeth, reached down grabbed the ratturd's feet, held him upside down only for a second so I could shift him around and tucked his @$$ under my arm. Everytime he tired to squirm free, I held him tighter. Carl told me I should have kicked him more, but I was like, DUDE, I kicked him 4 times and he still kept coming. I held him for about 10 minutes while I was talking to Carl. Carl says he's going to get rid of him, because he'll be fine, won't attack anybody, then all of the sudden he attacks only when your back is turned. I told him when if he wanted a nice rooster, let me know, I'll be working on faverolles this spring, I'll give him a pair, a boy and a girl. He said, well they all get mean at about 2 years. I said, NO they don't. Mr. Fluffers was nearly 4, and he never attacked any one. Roger was a year and a half, he never attacked anyone. Depends on the breed, and with his being a factory columbian wyandotte, and not a good quality one either... they aren't bred for niceness... I told him he needs a nice fat cochin boy or a faverolle. OR keep one of his older hens, even if she's stopped laying as his head hen.. she'll keep them in line then...

Well. I am thinking I might go work on my painting some more... but first... my self portrait painting...
You can also buy just alfalfa pellets at TSC and feed them. I would be careful buying sweet feed. It has molassis in it and that can cause dirreaha .
