so i was reading the other day about something called oxine, i guess it's what they mist over the commercial poultry flocks and is supposed to help a lot with respiratory issues, i was wondering if a humidifier would work as a mister? Do any of you know what they use as a mister?

I am intrigued by the idea, it is meant to be inhaled and therefore go right to the root of the problem; it also has the bonus of sanitizing all the cracks and crevices of the coop too.

I use Oxine. It is wonderful stuff. You can even spray it on the birds. It's expensive but well worth the money and you only use a little bit. A teaspoon in a spray bottle and fill with water.

I bought a vaporizer for my sons room... it is a Vicks humidifier.
You can put liquid in it to be vaporized or put it in a little cup like area... that may work!
It is little and inexpensive. It turns off after the water level is too low.

I need eggs... hatchable eggs... Mine girls are on Aureomycin... and even though there is no withdrawl period for eating them, I do not think I should hatch them... Skatter is seriously broody again, and her, I will let her hatch eggs cuz she's one of the best mothers, even in the winter...

The stupid falcon got my last quail so I ordered more eggs/. I took a gamble and ordered fifty

I will put bird netting up before its time to put them in the pen.

I received SEVENTY EGGS IN THE MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but only 47 made it into the incubator. The rest were broken or cracked.
Never count your quail before they hatch...but.....do you think I will get any girls out of that many eggs?

Out of 47?! Heck, yeah! I'd be willing to bet you'll get at least 2 girls out of that hatch! jk! Who knows? You could get all girls, ya know? Fingers crossed for you!

My EE's are laying? Probably hatch green egg layers, since they are such mutts. They have a 50/50 chance of being buttercup comb or something similar, since henry carries it; that's what i got when i asked the comb genetic whizzes. So 50/50 bearded, and 50/50 little crown combs! And 50/50 being some type of blue laced if i give you princess's eggs, since she is the blue laced and Henry is either blue laced or blue laced red's version of splash, which looks like a pale laced???

I took care of my work drama problem i think. Had a heart to heart with my boss, explained my crazy home situation right now and she understood immediately.
I have to move within the week, I am trying to work for a way to buy me time but it is looking like i have to disband my flock

Im taking Chicken Little, AND the showgirl roo AND the silkie roo to Robin on Saturday because shes the bestestest friend ever.

THEN- I will have girls.

I didnt collect eggs for two days- because I am hoping the 'broodygenes" will kick in one of those darn hens. Imagine- serama/showgirl or serama/frizzle cochin mutts!!!
Ive only seen him doing his roosterly duty to my showgirl but that doesnt mean the others have been ignored...
