Fuzzy's Farm

Oh I know... and then tee had to ruin it with a previous post about an unwanted number of inches heading this way. LOL
Hey. I do what I can. LOL

Kids are looking for a day off here, too. Last I knew, news 8 is saying 6"and tv 13 is saying 4". Still rooting for tv 13 to be right with this one. This will be the most we have gotten here at one time this season. I told DH to be careful coming home in the morning. So when is it supposed to start now?

So I heard some not so great news this morning that concerns my job. USPS is going to go to 5 day Mon- Fri mail delivery starting August 5th. Packages will still be 6 days and p.o. boxes won't be affected. Since I work Saturdays, this is not exactly great for me. Time to batten down the hatches and trim where necessary. DH says he's not too worried about it, but I want to adjust what I can now so that I can be on top of it. That way, if I find I need to get a second job, it will give me time to look for one.

Just watched the 6pm weather video. We're more north so it's looking to start around 5am here. I'll wait for the updated 11pm one to see if it's changed. I just hope it doesn't blast down too much before I have to take my DD to her doc appt at 9am. Do not want to driving in too much of all that nasty stuff they say is coming.

Oh, and you know it's not going to be pleasant when the weather man says this is snow for blowing not shoveling. Of all the things DH has refused to get.

Losing a day of pay stinks. I suppose I should be glad I have so much advance notice so I can prepare and do what needs to be done to adjust, but really, this all just stinks.

Sorry Tee! Hate that you will miss out on a day of pay. Bet everyone will be glad for spring. Even here in Ms the weather has been very rainy, Was born in Mo so lots of cold and snow! Don't know if I could handle a cold winter again. It is raining here this morning. AGAIN!! but I have windows open, so just a little chilly. Got big coop finished last night. So hopefully my other hens will start laying. My leghorn has layed for last two days. My bantams are doing good too, everyone have a great day, and stay warm and dry!

did anyone peek at this link??? This one started out with roo behavior but then went on to the flock dynamics; am i the only one obsessed with trying to figure these birds out? LOL Each one and their quirks, probably never REALLY know what's going on in their feathered brains :)

Nova, do you want china ever again? I have a set of 4 cup and saucers with a garland on the edges of tiny blue roses? Only paid $4 for them, couldn't pass up but not what i'm after. I am determined to go all out girl and get a bunch of pink stuff. Just because i can, ha! These aren't antique, but of a known and good brand.

There is a cruelty in those words, Rusty.... LOL

OH what a day! Yesterday was spent in semi misery... Gall bladder decided to wake me at 2 am, well into the attack already, so it took much longer for the ACV to work... Finally it went away, was just getting back to sleep and BAM! Started back up again! I had already drank a bucket of ACV, and so didn't want to chug anymore... Instead,... worked up the nerve and puked my guts out on purpose... Finally got back to sleep about 6... spent the rest of the day queezy... I still feel like twinges of the attack are still present... kinda like how you feel after you've walked up a serious flight of stairs as fast as possible till you were winded and you get that ouch in the center of your chest... yeah, that, minus the inability to breathe! So... still chugging the yucky crap, but at least I am able to function.

No coffee for me for several days, and no heavy or yummy foods for a few on top of that... total bummer, but, its that or snip snip lazer.

The snow here was not a nice thing. Started this morn about 9:30... came down heavy enough to have a good 4 inches on the ground by noon, and then! 1 rolls around and it starts raining. Can you say "Thank God I have a snow blower", cuz I can. Had to get the snow off the plastic panels that roof part of the run. There was enough ice on the end to back up the snow up and not let if fall off. I couldn't believe them birds racked up that much heat to create some big icecicles! WOWZA! I know it sure made a nice insulating layer, but with rain in that mix, and there was already a 6 inch layer of snow on it before the snow today... figured best take it off, be on the safe side. The pile I created pulling it down, packed enough that I can stand on it and not sink into it.

Well... there ya have it... That's my day today, and we are expecting another 4-6 inches over night, and my kid is praying it happens. Snow day is in his mind...

Criptoe's pretty sister, Red, has done gone broody. I know for sure, since her belly has been self cleared and feathers are in the nest box like you ain't never seen before! She is sitting on 6 faverolle eggs now. Woot! When I gave her 3 new ones today, I thought at first she wasn't going to take them, but then as soon as I walked away, she tucked them under her. LOL. Silly girl. LOL.

Fuzzy... Thanks for the china offer. I may consider in the future when I don't have rambucious boys... I really hope you are enjoying your day off.

Was even able to get the poop scraped! I bought a bale of hay at the TSC price... I only wanted the one.. would have cost me more to drive out to get one from Borculo... Anyway, I put half the bale in the runs, and some in the garage and some in the broody enclosure. Boy did they have that spread and turned in no time. Kept them really busy yesterday and today.

The turkeys were in display this morning too. I wish I had a good cameral... They are so lovely all fanned out.

Lolled around most of the day, then went out and spent an hour messing with the birds; coop has a nasty stink and i wish i would have remembered to pick up some new straw on my way! Won't get out of work tomorrow in time for the feed mill. Darn. I am planning to get some ivermectin paste from them too, they had it before for around 3 bucks

I spent a good amount of time shoveling mounds of snow around the camper, which helps keep the coop cozy without the cold wind blowing on the bottom of the floor! Tried to coax the picky little snots out of the camper, shoveled the run and threw BREAD down; started chucking birds out and they screamed like, well, girls :D Even henry, much to his humiliation. I shut them out for a minute, only to open the door to see them trying to climb the snowbank by the door to fit their heads into the tiny crack they were spying in............ drat. So i had to scoop the bread pieces out of the snow, and toss it in there with the ninnies. I wish i would have had my camera; whoever said that their feet don't get cold obviously hasn't met mine!!!!

flock news; i am wondering about the sex of the black and white "pullet" agian; I saw that one do some pretty serious chest bumping and all out war with my blue and white rooster! Darn. No "boy" hackles or saddle, but still......
