Didn't go to work last night. Didn't want to take a chance on not being able to get home and get stuck in Battle Creek lol. All schools around here are closed. How was your drive this morning Robin? My kid is gonna so not be happy when I wake him for school.. Lol, every district around us is closed or delayed... Not Holland area though.
This is the author of "The small scale poultry flock" book that I absolutely LOVE! He's so down to earth and has really good tips.did anyone peek at this link??? This one started out with roo behavior but then went on to the flock dynamics; am i the only one obsessed with trying to figure these birds out? LOL Each one and their quirks, probably never REALLY know what's going on in their feathered brains

My understanding is that the ink usd now is non toxic and biodegradable. I've used shreded paper for several years, and not seen any ink in soil. I do not shred slick/smooth magazines or paper though. Not good for soil.Snow! Wish it would come down here. We did get a tiny bit of rain yesterday - Woot!
Coop cleaning day here. It's beginning to smell. I found a recycling bin in our building at school. You should have seen me half in, half out digging for shredded paper. But I have a big plastic bag full so am going to try it in the coop nests. Thank goodness I had late classes last night and it was 11pm when I was hauling my shredded paper across campus so no one saw the "bag lady" - ha. The only thing I worry about is the ink on it when it decomposes in the compost pile...
I've wanted Hamburgs but have worried about them being a tad aggressive. Is that true?
