Fuzzy's Farm

Doing somewhat okay right now, but I thought I was gonna die earlier. Had a migraine hit mid-day. My gosh was that bad. At least DH let me lay down for that on the bed. Earlier this morning, he was being quite jerky and kicked me out of the room because he didn't want to catch the plague from me. Got to tell you, I was very tempted to put my kleenex in his coffee mug.

Anyway, as for fb, I don't care to have 100s of friends to clog up my feed. My family doesn't really post pictures (only rarely), but they do like to share funny pictures with funny sayings which I admit I do, too. Sometimes, you just need a laugh. Mostly, my feed consists of a lot of newpapers, farms, magazines and particular shows from which I like to get info. I'm always telling DH about some story of interest from a post from one of those. I also have both DDs schools and their activities liked so I can keep tabs on things that are going on.

I am hoping we get the warm weather we are supposed to get... IF 40 can be called warm. Well, It's a heck of a lot warmer than 20. I hope I can get some posts out of the ground also. I am planning of cutting the dogs run in half and giving the other half of the green to the birds. Yes, this includes serious fence re-arranging, so serious in fact that I will have to move only ONE length of fence. HAHA! LOL. The problem will be the posts, I have 2 post right now that I can pound in, maybe 3, and I have a few step in ones, so, I'll be cake. IF it doesn't rain and if it does get warmer. I hate to work in the cold. ALTHOUGH, it does make picking up dog poop easier when its frozen chunks. Hate after winter dog doodoo removal... ick.

Well, the faverolles have gotten into their thick skulls that the coop is for sleeping, not just egg laying. Took me one night to put them in there, and last night they went in on their own. Beulah has decided to go broody. THAT or she doesn't want to walk. Maybe this is a good time for her to brood, let her feet heal. Both Red and Criptoe have come to a truce of sorts. They give wide berth to each other, in passing, and Criptoe doesn't peck Reds chicks when they get close. Red leaves Criptoes singleton alone also. Sheh-Sheh on the other hand has not come out of the coop with her babies. I had to put a cardboard block up so she couldn't see Criptoe and the both of them fight. Goldie decided to try and get into Sheh's nest/brood area yesterday while I had her door open to give clean water and fill the food, and I thought that poor little Welly was going to lose her head. Sheh went ballistic and had her pinned in a corner!

I only got ONE, yes you read that right, ONE EGG yesterday out of 8 laying hens. WHAT THE HECK IS WITH THAT! I had 9 laying hens... but Beulah... Lovely Beulah...

Neighbor is making a new little rabbit hutch for his mother rabbit. I am thinking, the way he is making it, I could copy that and have a nice serema coop. Poor Fritz is getting beat up, not by the girls, but now even Rod Stewart is being a bit of a jerk. Must be spring. AND it's only when they are locked up. They are not over packed in their enclosure either. Plenty of space. I think its just the spring and cabin fever. They got on very well over the winter, Fritz being the biggest jerk in there... Well... I'd move him to the garage, but I don't want him terrorizing Pat the Rat.

Anyway... Need to get that done for them. Need Ekta to go back to him as soon as she's done with the mommy thing.

Hope everyone is feeling better. I have to thank the wind. My nose is plugged on one side, my eyes burn, and my head is still achy. WOOT! Spring is coming!

Hi everyone, Nova sorry you are sick again, I understand how you feel, I have finally recuperated. My two hens are still setting on the nest of 13 together, hope they all hatch, if not oh well.. I've been very busy, my hubby and I started planting our citrus fruit tree grove over the weekend. Got a few more to go next weekend, we've planted ruby red grapefruit, navel oranges, lemons, avocados, and satsumas. Still have some to plant then planting other orchard with peaches, plums, apples. Planted grape vines and raspberries also. Trying to get self sufficient in the next couple years or so. Got all my garden veggies started in green house. Lots of work ahead. Hope everyone gets to feeling better. My 9 big hens are all laying now. Which is great. Weather is so crazy one day have ac running next heat! COME ON SUMMER!!! Know all of you up north are ready for some warm weather, hope it comes soon.. Have great day everyone!

I made an appointment to get my little turd fixed tomorrow... Nebula that is.
Got a certificate for a free spay because she is a pit!!! That will help soooo much! I wish I had more stuff to donate to the humane society than just news paper... I hope they can use it.

So grateful that I got the free spay. Not sure I would be able to foot that bill now that I am not working. Ulk it is so hard. We are scraping the botttom of the barrel now. Gonna have to suck it up and get a job real soon. BF got a new job as an electricans apprentice! So proud! He is not on call on the weekends anymore and it frees them up for me to work.

My bichon wandered into the neighbors yard to say hello to the neighbors new BFs golden... I tried to call him back while putting my boots on and hobbling out the door... The dog grabbed him twice and shook him!!! I was screaming like a mad woman and the owner came out and pulled the dog in by his run leash. My bichon has a gash in his neck about an inch long, that has 2 punctures in it, and he has a hole right through his ear.
Now, I know it was completely my fault that my dog went into their yard... and their dog was on the leash, but I tell you what... If that line breaks when that dog comes rip, roarin, and tearin around the side of the house... I will put an end to it. It has lunged at my son while we were in our yard before... growling and snapping at him.
Again... I know my dog should not have wandered into their yard. I can't wait for the ground to thaw so I can put up my ugly butt fence in between our yards. I thought about trying to get the landlord to pay for half... I highly doubt he would.
The neighbor (renting) and I have history with our dogs. When we first moved in my great dane mix bit her pit... in their first meeting. It was dark and neither of us knew the other had a dog or that they were out at the same time. Plus, my stinker bichon has peed in her yard on too many occasions. (She had told me she was fine with him coming over because her dog liked him and they would follow eachother around peeing on eveything together... then she got POed because none of her flowers grew durring the summer last year. HELLO NOTHING GREW... THE GRASS WAS DEAD! She blamed my dogs urine on the reason her flowers were dead. But didn't confront me until fall/winter)
I had planned on putting up the fence months ago but the ground has been frozen solid.
Now she has her new BFs dogs over there...and they leave the golden out for HOURS!!! HOURS!!!!
I don't want to be the first to complain... cause we both have our faults... but I do not want that golden next door.

So, I will put my happy fence up and mind my own business until she or I move... Last year, I was bragging on here about how great my neighbors were... sigh.

Yeah... sounds to me that would be the best thing. If you get a fence with step in stakes to use, then you can take it down and with you when you go. Be sure it is several inches inside your property line. Mine is 2 feet inside mine on the side that matches up with the neighbor. That way I can mow on both sides of the fence. Lucky for me though, I have awesome neighbors on both sides.

Thinking that BBQ chix would be good for dinner. YUP

OH, and my house is safe for one more year! Last week of super hard tight money! BUT property taxes are paid. Now I need to get ahead on the coming year for a change instead of playing catch up on the people previous to me. Can you imagine losing a house because the previous people on land contract didn't pay, and the guy I bought the house from had NO IDEA until he got that infamous pay it or lose it letter... HE was willing to lose it. I am not.

Hope everyone is feeling better. I have to thank the wind. My nose is plugged on one side
After working today, so is mine. Geesh. Bad enough it hurts to cough and I sound totally like a frog when I talk, but what the heck. Why not add that, too?

Ashli, you definitely need a fence of some sort. Is it possible to take your dog out on a leash until you have one up so that he doesn't run over there?
