Hi everyone. Just stopping in during one of my awake moments. I can't believe how much I've slept the last 24 hours. Just wish it had made me feel better. Ugh. Have to ask, why does one's family treat you like the bad guy when you're sick? I can't remember the last time I was this sick, but I'm getting yelled at, berated and so on just because these people have a total inability to take care of themselves. For instance, a couple hours ago DS noticed the car lights were on so he tells DH. DH then runs to the window and starts loudly questioning me about why they're on. Yeah, you know, because I clearly went for a spin while I was passed out. He kept yelling so I got up went outside despite being slightly dizzy to turn the darn things off. See what I mean? I really don't like my family right now. Oh man, could I just have a heyday venting.

Anyway, Nova, Florus is looking good. A few days and he should be back to normal.
Ashli, given how I feel towards my family at this moment, I'm just going to say tell the mil to shut the **** up. (ok, not recommended, but you'd feel way way better)

Don't you know that moms are NEVER allowed to get sick?
They don't notice things that normally get done... until they aren't getting done... At least that is what I have learned.

A few mentioned it without quoting the pic.

My dog Noah (That got attacked on Fri) had a hemotoma (sp) in his ear... I thought it might be infected so I opened the scab... OMG that was the wrong thing to do!!!!!

The blood that was from the broken vessels in his ear pooled up and came squirting out like catsup EVERYWHERE!!!! I filled a whole washrag with it!!!!!!!
I was soooo grossed out and began to panic when I couldn't get it to stop and he shook blood all over the bathroom.



I ran to get steptic powder and plugged the hole back up. It hasn't bled ever since!!! THANK GOODNESS!
I called the vet to find out how much it would be to repair the broken vessels (read that is the best way to repair) and they said 2-3 HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!
REALLY!!! For maybe 4-6 stitches that go on the outside of the ear???? He would not have to be opened at all!!!!
I cried and called several more places. None would bill me... I have to apply for a medical credit card... the vet would see me but would not be able to do anything without payment, is what the lady told me!!!!
He is doing okay right now and the ear has not swelled back up like it was.
Now, I have 2 dogs in crates not allowed to run around... both are miserable.

My MIL posted something rude on FB...
BF and I are scraping the barrel right now... So, I have posted a few things on FB that are just taking up room...
She commented "Are you taking apart your home bit by bit to scrape by?"
YES!!!! Yes I am!!!

Did I mention I am PMSing and everything is so much more emotional than it should be right now?

Silver, glad your trip was good, glad you are home safe! Are your terror birds happy now?

Hun, if i was in your shoes 2 thoughts come to mind: superglue and a needle; If you know what has to be done the best thing to do is to "just do it" sucks, and is scarey but if you can........... I never thought i'd give shots or do surgery either, but i learned for the love of my bird; you can do it! Just be sure there is no possible chance of infection before it's closed up because infection has to drain. And really know what you're doing, even if it means scouring the internet for hours........ God bless the D vets, heart is in the right place but the prices are too much for the regular guys

I think restricted movement perhaps; he may have gotten one of the neck vertibrate dislocated, or strained it; could take time for the swelling to subside. Baby asprin, bed rest? I know, not on a roo's agenda this time of spring...... crate and dark bathroom, towel. Poor guy.

Finally broke down and made an account with e bay; found out a gal in Holt has an online account of ..........PINK stuff! LOL. She has all the kitchen gadgets i want. I hope she will let me visit in person, otherwise it's $5 s&h each item! I wanna meet her anyway, girl after my own heart.

Florus is worse...

A friend of mine... also a groomer... sent me a video with a vet sayiny that he rarely dose surgery on a hemotoma of the ear anymore. He said to let it heal naturally. There maybe some disfiguration of the ear but the dog will live.
I still have to worry about the cut on the back of his neck, but I will watch his ear and make sure he is not shaking it all around.
I had no idea that could happen to their ears!!!!
Here is the craziest part of all... When I had Nebi at the vet to get fixed Tuesday they said she had an ear infection and that I needed to treat it or she might get a hemotoma... well she didn't... Noah did.
