Fuzzy's Farm

Awww! cute pics, fuzzy babies and fuzzy orloffs :D I want the orloffs, just don't know where i could put the roo. Do they like picked up at all?

I am on tinter hooks tonight, we cut a pop door into the floor of the coop. It was hot and in a fit of desperation i left it open and drove back to my parent's, now i'm sitting here stressing over possible coon attack. :( Should have gotten the bottom fencing more secure, scared now. I only saw 3 of the neighbor's birds, but didn't think much about it until i got here. One of them is a bird that looks like an orloff with the color and the spangles, but doesn't have the beard; the name escapes me. She's a friendly girl and has decided to let me pick her up and hold her. If any birds come up dead over there i just may have to adopt her and pay them when they come back for the winter. I think someone's shutting up the coop over there at night, but don't know for sure and i don't want to get blamed if anything is out of place when they get back! Their birds come running when i pull in and i feed them already anyway, it's sad because i didn't want to get attached and then i went and did it. :/

My friend that has birds has BANTAM favorolles, Nova. I'm too exausted right now and i'm not remembering names, but she got them from Randy and has a cute little pair. The girl isn't laying yet, i don't know how to tell if she's old or young really. If she does lay i know i could get some eggs from her, too if you want, nudge nudge ;)

I had my first drowning tonight. I didn't think they'd be able to with the chick waterer... Apparently I was very wrong. I got some stones an put them in the waterer. I wanted to cry. I have used this waterer with so many chicks that have hatched here and have never had one drown...

Well, the babies made it through the night in the rabbit cage. I ended up having to put newspaper around the bottom. Them tiny stinkers can just pop right through the wire! LOL

Anyway, I am going to float test the last of the eggs today, see what happens...

I'm so sorry Nova. The most unusual things can happen and just do sometimes.

Fuzzy, hadn't thought of selling any. would like to build my flock first. Sorry! I may be buying more eggs from a different breeder so I am not in-breeding. I may have some for sale at a later date.

My porcelain booted hen decided to go broody, only problem is that she had sneaked off and ran over to the big rooster and cheated on her little guy before i could get the nooooooooo! out a week and a half ago, i think it was.......... so don't know if the babies will be pure or part henry's. LOL. I let her have 3 of hers and 3 of sissy's eggs, but i may switch sissy's with one big egg??? Is that even possible with her size?

Anyone want some itty bitty birds of questionable origin? :D
