Fuzzy's Farm

I'm having a crap day too. My little silver and black "stars in the sky" is passing for sure. She can't walk, and is refusing water. :(

Her mass isn't turning to liquid like it should have, it must have been some yard trash that she ate. :( Only way to save her would be a hurry up surgery to remove it, but i do not have a sterile environment, even my trailer does not have hot water or a way to truly sterilize and i doubt that i could have a steady hand for something that serious, i've never even seen the insides of a chicken. :(

This was the baby born last fall, the first one out that was so happy to be born that she ran around in the incubator "hugging" the others as they were born. She will be much missed, i held her and sang to her and told her goodbye. I was going to bring her home to be with me, but felt that she would like being with her bird family more.

Fuzzy I am so sorry :(

I guess it has just been one of those days... maybe one of those weeks... or years.
I am just so unhappy with the path I chose and I see no end to it anytime soon

Sorry to all those having a bad day :(

Oh fuzzy... I am sorry you are losing one of your babies.

If she makes it to tomorrow will you try to do surgery? I think it would be worth a try.
There would only be the skin and the crop to cut through...
Sounds easier than it would be to perform I am sure.
Wish I could help you somehow, Fuzzy

Ok so been letting the chickens free range in the back yard the last few days(since its been nice out). Wow what a differance that makes! I was getting 1-3 eggs a day and now I am getting 3=6 eggs a day and I only have 5 laying hens!!! Is this due to more vegetation balancing out their diet? Or perphaps just happier girls? On the roo note... anyone know where to get those lil dresses for the girls? My Polish roo is um... well he is quite energetic and enthusiastic this spring. The girls are starting to develop bald spots on their butts, and backs of their necks.

So many chickens are passing... I hate to see so much death. My chickens have mites or some kind of parasites, but I guess that isn't death.
