Fuzzy's Farm

I wish i could understand all the genetics mumbo jumbo! I have been trying to figure out what i have color-wise on my EE's, now i have babies and i am even more stumped! Something going on over here, and i wish i understood it so i knew what to do next! And how are splash blue laced red wyendottes still laced?

So i had an impure silver roo that almost looked like a silver/ lemon millie..........An almost spangled looking hen that resembled a blue millie, a hen that has blue and rusty color in bits and pieces.................
I get what looks like gold and black hens that aren't supposed to be, cocoa jr looks to be black and red? Mahogony? and an assortment of gold and what looks to be buff / cream/ lemon chicks!

And that's not even touching my really crazy rooster! I don't know who to put with who! I was trying to make blue/buff laced, but i may just end up making the first patchwork chicken, lol
LOL I have a lady in Washington helping me with genetics and colors for my marans. She is helping me create my own line of Golden Cuckoo's.

So how do you like JD's book? Curious to see if she can handle an adult oriented novel.
Huh? Are you thinking JK Rowling? If so, I haven't read it and am undecided if I will or not. The book I read was by JD Robb and it was a new one in her In Death series.
Fuzzy - It's a man thing LOL
Oh boy is it. I could tell my DH something repeatedly and still have him say I never told him. Got to the point I put up a big calender white board. Everyone has a color and you can't say you had no idea...it's on the board!

LOL That's funny

"Golden Cuckoo's." Oooo! That would be pretty!

I was trying for more like my hen, but with adding the porcelain in there since though not the same pattern it was still spangley....................I would also like to put chocolate in there, but it is supposed to be impossible with lav.............I was hoping for "leakage" of color, so i could get a similar shade; i have seen pics of chocolate with red leakage and i though it was more beautiful than the actual chocolate! Like a rich chocolate instead of flat brown. And here they are all trying to breed the leakage out!................... Oy. So i got to wondering since lav worked the same way, did the red leak originally and they bred it all out to the flat straw? Oh well, my two pullets from my hen are gold and black and looks like the other will be a dark red and black, so that will be ok with the lav. That much i know,

i just don't want to miss an opportunity if i had the "cream dillute" gene everyone is looking for on the d'uccle thread! Apparently there aren't any lemon d'uccles in the US for sale, and a lot of people want them suddenly...........probably not, but you never know what colors will pop out from an EE crossing!

I've listened to a few of Robbs audiobooks. I do like the mysteries on ocassion.

I just finished another of Conn Iggulden's books in the Ghenghis Series. I read the middle 3 in the series, and FINALLY got the first one. I have now to just read the one on Kublai and I will be finished with the series.

I am considering reading the Casual Vacancy to see how well she does and "Adult" book, but I do think that Rowling did grow in her writing during the Harry Potter series, so that by the last book, it was pretty adult. I don't see many 11 year old reading it. I am sure they do, but I see more giving up on it than finishing it when the movie is so much easier to handle. I might, I might not.

BUT in the mean time, I am going to read some Anchee Min while I wait for my next book to come in.
