Fuzzy's Farm

Thanks byfm and MsB.

byfm- I saw your hints on the other forum. I would absolutely freak if I tried to cull/process and the chicken 'hurred' at me while doing it. Don't thinkI'll be trying that anytime soon...

Well, early morning calls so to bed I go. Nite everyone.

I think all he's heard for days was blah blah blah..............you need to clean! ......................blah blah blah.................................and all he was thinking about was the deer

I hope he gets one soon, it will settle him down! Otherwise he will be pacing the woods for days........... Though it isn't too bad with the quiet for a change! I miss him after a few days though.
OH my husband is the same way! But deer is going to be BAD in Hillsdale when he hunts. The EHD has wiped out so many, we didnt see any at all on Saturday on our way to Robins. He had tracks all around his blind, but you could SMELL death.
Hey Kim - I'm STILL eating sloppy joe LOL

At least it tastes great!
I wish i could understand all the genetics mumbo jumbo! I have been trying to figure out what i have color-wise on my EE's, now i have babies and i am even more stumped! Something going on over here, and i wish i understood it so i knew what to do next! And how are splash blue laced red wyendottes still laced?

genetics makes my head spin, and at my age now, my brain refuses to let it in; It starts saying, "blahblahblah" whenever I try. I know that EE are such a mutt that you can get any color at any time. Makes it fun, though.
Like I said, it's a man thing. They hear but they don't listen ( unless you don't want them too, huh Kim ?) LOL
Right!!!

Mom2 what kind of quail? Bobs?... I want cots... hatch some cots for me!!!
Cots- no more bobs, nope..not doing bobs again. They mature at six weeks. Cots for you, you want eggs? Did you get your incubator yet? Make sure you tell Santa that you need one.

Huh? Are you thinking JK Rowling? If so, I haven't read it and am undecided if I will or not. The book I read was by JD Robb and it was a new one in her In Death series.
Oh boy is it. I could tell my DH something repeatedly and still have him say I never told him. Got to the point I put up a big calender white board. Everyone has a color and you can't say you had no idea...it's on the board!
Sorry, TeeV, typo on my part. I was thinking JK Rowling...duh, it was a long week last week and brain is fried.

BRRR! Egads! What chilly morning!

It is supposed to be in the upper 60s here today. I sure hope so I have washing to finish. There is one thing to be said about line drying... You have to wash every darn day to keep up since it takes 2-3 hours just for a load to dry. I have 3 lines. BUT I have an XL capacity washer, AND that takes up nearly all three lines... SO... Yeah... I feel like I am never to be done. Now that I have the money saved for the LP, I can start saving for the new dryer... Or new used dryer... Hmmm...

Sorry for everyone else's losses

I like JD Robb .. right now I am waiting for the new janet evanovich to come out and november and another series.. dont remember the quthor that comes out on halloween night ..

I did a quick candle yesterday and over 90% of the duck eggs already have veining - here's hoping they keep growing...

cleaned out the brooders and bleached them yesterday ... have very few babies left... im beginning to think i might not have quarantined (sp? ) long enough and the bad weather made the problem worse...

no more babies for this season beyond the ducks if any make it to hatch ...

Got the coops cleaned and everyone set up nice .. just need to get some hay when money comes in ...

Nova I will give plenty of warning bc when i find out ill be doing the

Put in an app today, almost got to talk to the kitchen boss! The office liked me, had not the kitchen boss had a meeting i would have gotten an impromptu interview!!!!
So they said i would PROBABLY get a call this week

. But that don't mean that things won't change................ I hope my resume is as good as i think it is! (This is the one i used that book to put together) I hate getting judged by a piece of paper, it's so much easier when you are there in person!

Now off to go wait on my DH to wander out of the woods...........!

Chickies gotta go to the family's to brood, boy are they getting noisy and restless! My neighbors gotta be wondering, lol.

I'm going to take advantage of the warm weather to let them run around and explore, like they would be doing with a momma. I did it with all my birds, i let them play outside for a few minutes at a time and then put them in to warm under the lamp. :) I try to keep things as close to nature as i can. These ones got sneezes, my spring hatch didn't and it was colder out there with momma than in my house! Everything else is the same. I really think that there is stuff in the dirt that they need! I put some dirt in the brooder a few days ago, and the sneezing went down to almost nothing! So "out to play." :)

Ok... This story is so very not chicken related, but it is child related. As in, it is MY child... The bathroom, and fuzzy butts...

So, I am finishing taking a shower, in the process of drying. My 3yr old has to potty, and potty NOW. SO, I let him in, we have only one bathroom.

Aiden, "Why do you have a furry butt?"
Me, "You get furry butts when you get older."
Aiden, "Where's your weiner?"
Me, "I'm a girl. Girls don't have weiners."
Aiden, "How do you pee with no weiner?"

That's it... I lost it.... LOL. He was so darn serious, and I just had to tell him to get out, then I laughed so hard tears were rolling.

I am thinking I need a new home for Argus and Ruby. Not cuz they are doing anything wrong like killing more chickens, but more along the lines of Ruby keeps attacking Jace, my oldest whenever him and Aiden are playing. She is very protective of Aiden. Its that, or I need a kennel... I think maybe a home with no kids and no chickens... A single middle aged lady who likes walks... Anyone here in MI know of anyone who is trust worthy?

We just spent some time at the library. I couldn't fit any more kids books in the bag. This is the first time I actually let the kids go pick the books they wanted. I am glad they the library isn't such sticklers on being quiet in the childrens area. I had to keep telling them to talk quietly. Herrick has the kids and teens section up on the second floor to keep them from annoying the other patrons who still believe a library should be quiet. And these days you can't tell teens to shut it cuz they just become beligerent. Little Jerks...
