Fuzzy's Farm

Nova, those are great pics of your chicks. Fuzzy I'm still here but been really crazy here lately. 2nd of 3 grandbabies due this month came yesterday. Little girl, 6#3oz. She's so sweet and tiny. I've been cooking and sewing and now am just all worn out from kids and grandkids. Told DH that I didn't care where we went just so we get away. I'm tired - lol.

Sorry that your boys aren't doing their duty, Nova. Bummer.

How's the new job Fuzzy?

Tee? Rusty? Savannah? Everyone is missing in action

Hi Total! Thanks for congrats, Nova. The baby is cute. I've been making a couple of receiving blankets for her the last couple of days. I'm kind of babied out - ha - and another one coming Oct 30. I've made about 8 casseroles for each mother and frozen them so they have food on hand and don't have to cook the first week or so. That's 24 casseroles altogether. And DH wonders why I don't want to cook at dinner - ha.

Last day of teaching is Dec 8. I'm so ready. I don't have time to work - lol.

I'm also in the process of making this feeder that I can empty 50 lbs of food in and then shut it up tight so the raccoons don't get into it. The goal is not to have to carry feeders in and out of the coop each morning and night. We'll see how it works. I'll post pics when I get it done.

Have you all had cold weather yet? We are supposed to get a bit of rain this weekend and then temps drop dramatically on Monday. I've got to say that I'm ready. It's been so warm here the last couple of days. Just think I'm ready for some sitting by the fire time.

It's nice in the day, but cold at night! Makes it hard to crawl out of those blankets.

New job is great, i'm still not comfortable being a temp long term since i worry about getting let go if the work load slumps, but i've gotten a lot of cash under my belt doing overtime. Wish i'd done it sooner! So much less stress and making more money to boot! I'm ready to be done with the overtime though, wearing me out. And i've found that i'm allergic to the oil we work with! So bringing face cleaning cloth things to work to try to help, and doing a tad better. I've started applying for other positions that don't have the oil though.

I also don't get to spend much time at all with my birds :(

Buuuut, i'm glad i have my modest savings now with the govt. shutdowns, some of my family and friends are on assistance of one type or another and i'm pretty worried about them. Food stamp machines were shut down here in MI today, no telling how long this will go on. :(

I'm here, Gigi. I pop in every few days to see if anyone else has. I'm thinking since most of us connected on fb that we just don't come here like we used to. Congrats on the second new grandbaby. I bet she's a cutie.

News from my world is limited. It's work, work, work and errands, appointments and meets. Our post office is super busy right now due to so many carriers out for injuries/surgeries. I've been working full time for about a month now. It's great for the wallet, but I am so tired from being there all day and then running to appointments, cross country meets, practice pick-up or dropping/picking up a kid from their work. I spent most of this week going to bed between 9 and 10pm which is way not usual for me. I'm such a night owl, but I just can't make it that long anymore. Some of it will ease up this week with the end of the cross country season at the championships Thursday, but I still have a lot to do with other stuff. It's homecoming week here and since my oldest daughter is a senior I have to shoot her all over for it. Today is float building day and she has to be there because they chose her design for it. I plan to go to the parade and game on Friday so I'll get pics of it if anyone is interested in seeing it. The theme this year is Disney and the seniors got Toy Story.

Anyway, DH is looking at me very impatiently right now as we are to head into G.R. to Lowe's and a few other places so I need to go. Have a great day everyone and week, too.

That's a lot of cooking; I'm sure the mom's will be happy to have them.

The feeder thing - we did that too. It makes it so much nicer, especially when it's raining really hard. We only have to fill them every few days (ducks as well as chickens). Himself carries the 50lb sacks into the coop so it's no problem for me! (hehe).

This has been a crap week... SO far. We haven't even made it to hump day!

I started a new job yesterday... Its at Michaels, one of my fav craft stores. LOVE it. It doesn't love me. I had a head ache and the pukes with in an hour of starting. The aromas in there from all the different products... candles, herb, potpourris, christmas things... I can't take perfumes. I don't usually go on that side of the store until I go to check out, so I never really noticed it. Well, that's where I was working. AND I swear...

BUT, I had to do a brake job. Sunday the brakes started to go out, and I limped it through the route. I should have done them Sunday afternoon, but I was just to tired. It was also very chily weather. Figured I'd do them Monday. Oh in hindsight... SO, after my head was manageable, I went out to get the brakes done. Broke the screw driver I used to compress the calliper, you know, you put it between the pad and the rotor, and push... ANYWAY, snapped it! WHAT THA?? Well, get one side done, go to the other, and I am missing a bolt. Good thing I had bolts left from last time, when I was missing a bolt. Same bolt. It's stripped where it bolts in... Oh well. Dang jeep. THEN... ITs gets BETTER!

Got the brakes done, go in, and find the kitchen sink leaking. GAH! Felt the pipe, and well, it was pretty rusted.. like squeeze and it had a hole. Nothing I could do... Until today... Well... I don't know who did the last repairs, but they glued and sodered. I had to hack saw peices apart, then finagle the new peices together, several trips to lowes till I finally was able to get it all together. AND it still has a drip... I'll be a ....

I did however get some buddies today for Loner. I got him 5 Isa brown cockerels to be buddy buddy with, and he's very happey now. In 16 weeks, we'll be having soup.

Im so sorry such a bad day hopefully today goes better. Maybe you can see if you can work in another department at job. I work with public and some of the women come in smelling like they bathed in perfume. I have to keep benadryl on hand as certain perfumes will make my throat start to swell. I cannot go in the smelly sections of stores either. Love candles but have to take benadryl before going into swancreek candle store or yankee store. Sucks. I hope today is better for you.
