I checked over Carls girl myself. She's ok, she was just stunned. She didn't even move from the spot where the hawk landed on her she was so stunned. I got ahold of her, checked her wings, her back, neck, under the wings... Man, he though she was going be a goner, but nope, I put her in the coop, and not 15 minutes later she was back out pecking the ground.

As for the hawk... Well, what can I say... I don't think we'll see him again for a while. I think Carl scared the crap out of him pretty darn good, like REALLY good.. I think Lacy said it best...

I had to throw Fibber in confinement tonight. Man, he was just being a terror! Skatter was already in her nest box with her chicks, he goes in the nest box after her, scares the chicks out, and she's trying to get away, but its a darn nest box! I snatched his butt out of the nest by his tail and back legs, don't worry Robin, I didnt' hurt him, and shut his butt up in the old broody coop for an hour till bed time. Boy... Skatter is getting ready to start laying again, and I guess he can sense it, cuz now he loves him some Skatter and she does not love him! LOL. I put him in the coop after dark with the other chickens, and he seemed pretty abashed. LOL. Good thing for him though, he doesn't hurt hens, no bloody feather. Heck, he even has that darn little serema hen under his spell. LOL, I wonder what those chickens would look like... Hmmm...

I WAS going to say... if you don't have any neighbors...in regard to this hawk, remember the Triple S rule. But if neighbors are close... then I guess it depends on the neighbor.

Also, for Carl, he should check his GLW girl for any puncture wounds. I've lost a few because their flesh was punctured by the filthy talons on a hawk! An infection that I couldn't stop.

What did you use, by chance? I've never been able to make a good recommendation for a hawk wound I wondered because if i knew what didn't work, maybe it would narrow down what would??? Worth a shot.

I only used triple antibiotic ointment on my hawked girl... she is still doing really well!!!

Oh, I hate the idea of having to go to town this morning. Toilet broke last night so it is a have to thing. Dad-gum, this is one time I wish DH were home, so he could fix it. Now I have to see how challenged I have to be.

After the last two days, today has been rather uneventful. Not that I am complaining, don't think that. But wow! I opened a window in which ever room I was in just enough so I could hear in the event that the taloned monster showed back up. It, thanks be, did not! AND I got 10 eggs today too!

I see that today is another slow one. You can always tell a Saturday on this thread. Everyone is gone, and busy. Me, I gave myself a head ache reading Mark of Athena in two days. Rusty is playing plumber, its easy enough to fix a toilet if you have interent and an "I CAN DO IT!" attitude. Although, I think leaving that chore to a guy is always so much nicer... since it is a guy who has a tendancy to pee in places outside of the toilet at the same time as peeing in the toilet. Boys suck... I don't know what everyone else is up to though... LOL

I have to work tonight. I did however get my heated blanket back from my friend who used it last winter while he was on blood thinners after his heart attack. Froze his bum off big time even with the heat full blast. I also picked up a car heater that plugs into the cig lighter to be able to defrost the winders faster/keep up in a storm that is. I am thinking of doing like my dad did. He'd rig a blanket to hang between the front and the back so the heat would stay in the front of the cabin. We'll see. BUT... I have to work tonight, and I totally willing to let any of you do it for me instead...
