Fuzzy's Farm

I have been attacked by only one rooster. That was the neighbors. He attacked when my back was turned, and I kicked the crap out of him then chased him around the yard until he hid. He has never attacked me again. That is the neighbors current rooster. He will attack if you are wearing blue shoes. LOL. Their old rooster Big Bad Bob attacked my then 4 year old, and I went after him too, and he realised before I even got to him that he was in for it and ran/flew fast! LOL. Guess he figured out not to mess with this momma's baby. LOL. Jace was very cautious around that boy after that. Mr. Fluffers and him would get into it big time. Mr. Fluffers would kick his butt. LOL. Funny as heck to see. Mr. Fluffers would lay down flat as soon as Bob would jump up to spur. THEN as soon as Bob's feet hit the ground, Mr. F would be up and ninja rooster him square in the chest. LOL. Bob finally learned. He beat up Mr. F, and Mr F then changed his tactics next time. LOL. Bob was a big BR. Beauty of a bird. Anyway...

With the 3 grown boys I have now, the silkie cock Roger Jr and the two silkie crosses that are12 and 8 weeks old... I have plenty of cockerel/roosters in the yard. Roger was a good rooster, so I hope that all 3 of his offspring will be too.

I have coturnix not buttons.

I think I will have to incubate some quail eggs. I started incubating chickens (my hens did) last year on December 15th. Well, the girls are not even laying an egg so that isnt happening- but I did add a light to my coop so MAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE someone will lay an egg.

Mom, if I get so lucky... I will try and bring some GIRLS to CS for you to pick from on the silkie end... I am sure I can get a few more... Of the 4 eggs I hatched from your hen and Roger, I got 3 girls and 1 boy! Unfortunetly, that black girl that I said you could have I had to put down... WAAA!!! Anyway... Will be looking for another silkie male early spring to mate with both Vanilla and Soledad. I know she's pink skinned, but you don't care about that do you? LOL.

LOL, that's good though. You have breakfast! LOL

My little serema hen has been laying like clock work every other day. Some days 2 in a row then skip a day... SO, averaging 4 a week from her. I woudn't have thought to get any, or very many till spring...

My RIR X is laying one everyday too! I thought she would skip around here and there at first NOPE
They are about 45g or 1.5oz Will they get bigger? She has only laid 8 eggs...

I might be getting an incubator!!!!... Uh oh!!!

I'm falling out, guys. Can't keep my eyes open! Dar n early mornings.
I have tomorrow off, but am still waking up early due to a work party and needing to cook for it ( potluck ) I am going to try to spend some more time with the flock observing too.

Pie! Yay! lol. It will also be a chance to socialize without the horrible white hairnet, i look hideous without hair! I know it's just pride, but still.......... Try to hold your composure and look serious with a poof on your head! Can't even let bangs show here. - These girls think those gordon food service pies are good, they've obviously never had PIE. lol. Horrible thick hard tasteless crust, Filling is gummy and in the case of the rhubarb just plain awful! I'm gonna bring a couple of my signature apple pies, god willing :)

Should i have a "pie failure" my backup plan is whipped sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon, can't muck that up! lol

(You know you can make something great any other day, except the day when you are being "judged". ha ha ha.) :D

My dear, sweet, Bluebelle at 20 weeks old. I think she looks great, but, does she look show-quality? Please tell me how you think she looks and if she could possibly win in a show.
