yes, safe coop and run! Unless doing an inside pet. 1/2 inch hardware cloth is the best, coop that can be fully shut down at night! Hardware cloth on the windows. Covered runs are the best. I don't have one yet, but be sure that if i still keep my flock this spring it is top on the list! I stayed with them all last summer to protect them, but didn't leave me much of a life.And you need a safe coop and chicken feed and bedding and a run (or free range area) and a waterer that doesn't freeze. Lots of other things go along with taking care of a chick that quickly becomes a full grown chicken.
