Fuzzy's Farm

Hi Nova! That meal sounds soooo good. My absolute favorite meal is mac and cheese. Nothing better!

It's cold here also. Got snow on Christmas day which was pretty nice. But it's sooo cold out and I was the slacker - got spoiled by all the good weather so none of the water heaters were finished. Now dealing with ice in everything!

Lol! You sound like me! I love mac and cheese! XD

Well, I am reading Lord of the Silent, and listening to the Tomb of the Golden Bird right now. I actually started the series on the 4th book! Just picked it up for something to listen to in the car, not realizing it was a series! I loved it and went back for more. Now I am reading the books that I can not get on audiobook to fill in the gaps. LOL. I know, but since each story is its own story, it isn't to hard to keep track of where I am at, past and present. LOL. I have totally missed 2-3 books between the Golden One and Gold Bird... but, as soon as I can get those from a book, or audio... Well fill in. Nothing like learning that Nefret was preggo, to it being 5 years later, and she has two very precocious twins. LOL, What can I say... Love her. Great find for a random pick up.

I am actually thinking of going to the store and buying a few1x2 and building a few water cages... SO, the water will sit inside, the top will sit the heat lamps, the sides will have card board. Keep the heat isolated to the gallon jugs. Since I have a run full of leaves, I am very leary of making the cookie tin heater. AND I have plastic waterers.... Anyway, it would be built so the birds would be able to get water from all around, but small enough to keep the heat in, but not have the chickens hang out... know what I mean? Just direct the heat more to the water and not spread away. So far so good the way I have it, but the 3 gallon waterer sure doesn't stay completely thawed like the 1 gallon, but it is thawed enough on one side... Just a thought ya know...

I've not read those. I've got several as we go to half price books all the time and I pick them up when they are on the discount table. She's really good. After I get some stuff in the barn done I'm going to sit and read and do nothing else.

hmmm So would it be like a frame of wood with the waterer sitting inside and cardboard on about the top 3/4ths with the light hanging down on the open top? I bet foam slabs/insulation would work also and maybe not be as flammable?

I've got lots of leaves also so also have been cookie tin shy.

Yes, I'd wire the clamp lite to the top so no risk of falling off, sat center. Not so worried about the card board catching fire, It'd not be more than a foot near the light all the way around. But basically yeah. I could go to the resource store and see it they've got any foam.. they usually do have the foam with the foil on it... hmmm.. that might be an even better idea actually.
