Fuzzy's Farm

Well, the good ones run between 18-30. Those are on canvas and are oil based. HECK NO! But that one on Ebay is a discontinued, so, they can get away with asking 2x what it was worth new at the store. If it weren't for the shipping, I might by it. But I don't want to pay $34 all together, when I can buy a canvas, and just paint it. I was just wanting a simple stupid one... LOL. Paint by numbers is simple stupid, but I think I can manage a full out off the top of my head one. LOL. I used to paint ALL THE TIME... till I got divorced then had kids...

My oldest DD just did a couple of paintings with the new art and canvas kits she got for Christmas. She's more of a draw-er than a painter, but I think she did really well considering she's never had any formal training for painting.

She just did this one the other day. Didn't use anything for picture reference, just her imagination.

And this is one of her drawings. She kind of gave him a cartoonish look because she draws mostly in that format. Can you guess who it is?

I am seriously thinking of getting another one... Paint by number that is. Lol... I am sad... O know. Lol
Don't be sad, Nova. You'll find one...
OH! Gigi, Diana Gabaldon... The outlander series, have you read it?
You know I've wanted to but never have. I have a good friend who swears they are the best she's read. I just need to start but I'm not sure which one if first. Right now I just finished reading the second book of "The Lincoln Lawyer" series. It was pretty good. I need something that would really hold my interest...maybe I'll try The Outlander - talk DH into going to town to the bookstore. (That's actually where we met for the first time. Now I'm not kidding, we literally have 10,000 books in our house. I call our decorating style "early bookcase". DH gets 2-3 books a day from amazon. I think it's his only vice...but I guess as vices go this is a pretty good one.)
Morning Everyone
And Happy New Year, may this one be great!
Our day was great! We don't go out New years eve (don't want to become a statistic) So DH and I sat and finished wrapping gifts. We had our Christmas yesterday (here at my house) Day went very well! Whew! now it is all over and I can put stuff away. Enjoyed grandkids and they are going home tonight, then maybe I can relax a bit, love em but some time hard to keep up with !
Going sledding later! Yup Me!
Hi Rusty!!! Happy New Year! I know EXACTLY what you mean regarding grandkids and going home. Hope you had a great time sledding. That sounds like so much fun!
ooooo, I want one...
ROBIN! This is what I was talking about. I copied and pasted. I am wondering if this may be it...

IB is found worldwide but in varying strains with more emerging all of the time. This is why vaccination is not always effective. Most vaccination programs will include strains specific to your particular area of the world, but it is sometimes difficult to include all of the strains that are also emerging in that same area. While vaccination may be a good prevention measure, you must accept the fact that your birds could become exposed to a strain not covered by the vaccination. To avoid maternal antibody resistance to vaccination, chicks should be vaccinated for IB at the age of two weeks.

The primary target of the IB virus is the trachea, which results in tracheal rales (rattling), but also includes such symptoms as coughing, sneezing, chirping, and a loss or reduction in egg production. Less common symptoms include a nasal discharge and wet eyes. Some sinus swelling may also occur but this is rare and usually only seen in very young chicks. In some hens, you may also find a fluid (yolk) buildup in the abdomen. Not all birds will show symptoms. But ALL birds will have the virus.
In a more virulent strain, IB can attack the kidneys and in these cases, the bird will typically show no upper respiratory symptoms but will become drooped (tail down). In these cases, death is almost certain within 24 hours and there is almost nothing you can do to reverse the kidney failure. Another possibility that includes the kidneys is if the bird recovers the initial upper respiratory symptoms, but then fails later due to kidney damage that was caused by the virus. The virulent strain that attacks the kidneys can usually be confirmed by necropsy with the finding of kidneys that are swollen and pale. It is not uncommon to have more than one strain of IB infect the same flock at the same time.

Might want to read the whole article... http://www.shagbarkbantams.com/ib.htm
Sounds very scary.
In the ceiling heat vent. John heard that darn squirrels in the crawl space. Happens every winter, they rip out the screening, and go in. SO they are running around over the tops of the heater vents, keeping warm ect... and he hears that, thinks they are IN the vents, and so he's using the plunger on the vent, ...the vent cover fell off when I ws painting the ceiling in there... while he is peeing. Then he left it in the vent while he was washing his hands and brushing his teeth cuz he's afraid somehting might fall down it! LOL. Yeah... I sent him a text message ask him really? In the vent?
Nova, I just read this to DH. He and I were laughing so hard. I can see the whole plunger thing. Hilarious
I have got to get busy. Later

Just looking at the cake I think you would do great painting. You should go for it.

We cut thorny vines in the goat pasture today. They were everywhere, up in the trees and twined around all the shrubs. Even though I wore leather gloves, I've got so many scratches and am worn out. Think we will head for bed. Night everyone.

She's 17. The portrait was actually picked to be in a school art showcase this past year.

You know my DH said that goats were awesome for getting rid of thorny vines because they would eat them, but when I tried to give a few to our goats this past summer to see if they really would, they only ate the leaves. That pretty much solved that mystery for me of why the heck they would even eat them in the first place. Ha ha, they don't. At least not mine.

So my easter egger who lays olive eggs has totally quit laying.  Is that normal for winter?  My other easter egger who lays blue eggs gives us one every day, regular as clock work.

Do you have supplemental lighting for them? Some are more sensitive to light than others.

I got ZERO eggs today. 40 hens that I'm 100% SHOULD be laying, and not a single egg today. They have a nest somewhere. And I'm going to find it...........
