Are you wanting to hatch eggs?  Or do you just want eggs to eat?  You don't need a rooster unless you want to fertilize the eggs the hens lay so you can have more babies/chickens.  If you just want eggs to eat then I would only get hens and no rooster.  I've only hens (9) in a 30X40 run and a 7X7 coop (inside a 10X10 shed).  It works great

Just want eggs! So guess I might not need a rooster! But nice to hear a rooster crow! Lol

Honestly right now is really cold for here it's around 40 degrees.. We actually got snow a couple of hrs north of here.. My husband tad me after he got to work this morning and said there was snow flurries on his way to work. He works at John stennis Nasa space center right close to Louisana state line. We are about 20 miles from his work.

I'm not used to this cold! We don't usually get this cold here. And if it does it docent last long. But the weather everywhere is crazy the last few years.. So go figure!
