Fuzzy's Farm

Just make sure it's half inch hardware cloth or you could still be in for trouble if you have a weasle or mink about. And coons will climb up and rip through chicken wire if it's at the top, it may take a while for a smart one to wander by but if he does.....you can lose a whole flock all at once. Any tiny hole!

I figure even if they don't want to lay eggs in them... they could roost on them.
Last year they were all so little durring the summer that I felt like I had to lock them in the coop at night... this year I will leave the pop door open (as long as the enclosed run is locked they will be okay)

So you have hot weather too? I'm still not quite sure of what chickens I'm going to get. But thinking of getting a few pullets for now then when it starts to warm up trying baby chicks. I'm new so don't wanna get in over my head and be disappointed if my chicks was to not make it! I'd feel like a bad chicken mother! Lol
We have really severe hot weather - last summer had 39 days over 100 -- and are still in a major drought. Our lake is 20feet down from it's normal level. I was worried about everyone but we didn't lose any to heat. I love my misters. The girls would get under the mist and hang out when it was super hot. I also froze water and fruit to cool them off.
