Fuzzy's Farm

Well, with the jeep, I don't have to sit down into it either. SO, ok with that. I just wish they were closer together so I could walk them all at once. LOL

I have charco tabs. I don't like the charco powder. NASTY! But effective. I found the charco tabs by pure chance one day. Man... when my oldest got the flu and then my neice 2 years ago, I started to feel yucky, and I was swallowing them things down like candy. Never threw up. Now I keep them on hand. Even have the powder too just incase.

Well ladies... Time for me to go force the favs to go in the coop. Gonna go read some more Roscoe Riley Rules to the monkeys too. SO, keep warm, catch ya later. And Tee, keep warm tomorrow, Robin hope you feel better too.

Later Nova. Take care

Thanks Nova.
I decided to keep the chickens in the coop yesterday, today and tomorrow. Just don't want to take a chance with how cold it is. They'll get a chance to get back out Thursday.

Nova, I found this today when looking at a fermented feeds thread. She also uses chicken saddles that have big eyes on them that will scare off predators. She got the idea from National Geographic who did a piece on defensive mechanisms such as big eye patterns on the back of moths that mimics predator eyes. Some thoughts anyways...

I have two hawk deterrents that have worked thus far...and I'll let you know if they fail. We live right in the middle of forest land with 1000 acres of public lands on our border, so hawks are abundant here, as well as owls.

Here are my hawk deterrents:

Scary Sue~ she sways in the wind and even revolves. I move her location every day or every other day and it's easy because she is just PVC placed over a metal push in stake.

And tree cover, "wings" open on the coop under which to duck...and they do! I can give a roo alarm call and they RUN for cover!

See, I was thinking of making scare crows! Making them on PVC is a great idea! Scary Sue. Lol, that is great. Thanks for copying it to here. Like the little hoop run too. Think with a full cattle panel/fenced bottom, could conceivably keep silkies safely during summer months... Something to think on. Even seremas..

Hello tee.

Nova - I was good but now my stomach is hurting real bad and been throwing up. Hope it isn't that dang flu !!!! I had my flu shot too. At any rate, I have this little Serama roo here and I don't like Serama's. Interested ??
You DIDNT TELL ME!! And I made sure I wasnt bringing you germs! :( Now Im gonna be worried sick.
Yup, CL. I also have a white Silkie roo and a white SG roo if you are interested.
Thought you were gonna keep that SG roo and pair him up with these two SG pullets of mine...make some babies...they are going to grow on you. Yeppers, you are gonna be so in love with them come spring...Actually, I think you put a SG roo over silkies and a Silkie roo over SG hens...isnt that how its done?
He was pretty when he was mature. He wasn't so pretty when he was going through that teen age stage... Took so long to crow too. Anyway... He was nice and gentle, but I had Mr. Fluffers and Roger and that's all I was interested in.

Got any PQ silkie hens? Just one is all I need. I am hoping that Soledad keeps healthy through to CS. AND hoping to have another silkie pullet by then and Kim has her hidey area done good for her exotic ground parrots. LOL.
Already planning on my hideyhole. lol. Im so mad about the whole situation. Gotta stay calm though, because I dont need another stroke. Chicken Little did his job with tiny little Bird- her ONE egg in my incubator is fertile.
No I don't have any extra silkie hens right at this time. Sorry. I have more roos then hens. I gave Kim a black one just because she needed one but I really can't spare anymore. She needed one for a friend to her SG pullet. lol
:( Thats me...greedy, lol. And though you won't believe it, that little black and Bobblehead have become buddies and my SG pullet has put herself into the older group. low bird on the totem pole but in their pack nevertheless. I may have to just smuggle bobble and black in the house and keep em. stupid city jerks. Wish everyone would have just left me alone.
LOL I plan on having LOTS of silkie babies by spring. Enough for all of us. Kim has ordered some splashes lol.
yes, please. But Im not taking ANYTHING til it has proven it doesnt crow. lol.
