Fuzzy's Farm

Well, I was thinking Wednesday, BUT, Kid has a late start day again, and Mom has a mammogram and bone density test at 10 am. I am going to try and see if my sister is available to take my mom and John to drop off jace. If they will that'll be great. If not... Then I have to do a different day.

Speaking of that... Robin, do you want me to save faverolle eggs? A few times Loralie did figure out how to get out of the pen, she can't now, so, not a perfect guarantee of pureness, but, you'll be able to tell that soon. They'd be either pure, frizzled, which could be really cool, or mixed with Rod Stewart, which I think would give you a smutty looking hen, closer to a fav roo, but not pure, since he's 1/2 faverolle... Anyway, let me know.

Now that I think on it... frizzled faverolles could be very cool. How many generations would it take to get them back to looking like faverolles color but frizzled? hmmmm.... There's a thought... I shouldn't think.... hmmm....

I have quail eggs due to hatch tomorrow, and I have about five chicken eggs in the incubator that are just shy of a week from hatching...and ONE bird egg that is way behind the others, but it was the only one of three that she gave me, and the other two werent fertile.

Of course, I could have just turned off my incubator when the city busted me. But I COULDNT- yep, I am anti-abortion on any level.

NOW, I am just letting the only people on the PLANET who may understand, know...

My oldest hen has been faithfully sitting on ONE egg for about a week. ANd it breaks my heart to box her up and ship her out. And I am going to put her ONE egg in my incubator.I checked to see how many eggs she had under her, and she beat the crap out of my hand.

My oldest frizzle followed me around the yard, cussing me out. Frankly, she is sick of the snow and cold. And its my fault.

My heart is BROKEN to take them from the only place they have known and move them. Not that Robin isnt a fabulous home, because she is- but the birds are going to be stressed tonight in a cage, and stressed being moved and stressed not knowing where they are...and have I mentioned that I HATE my neighborhood?

*sigh*

Kim- I will do my very best to settle them in with as little stress as possible. I'm so sorry. But at least you will be getting them back.

Thanks but no thanks Nova. Don't really want any little ones right now. I have lambs due in Feb and that will take any and all of my extra time.

I think I am not moving them tonight. I think I will have them loaded when he arrives. And tell him, he gave me a week in the coldest part of the winter, and that I am taking them when he leaves and he can come back any time during the week to see that I was telling the truth.

I think I will give my girls one last night in their home. (%* 'em.

i just went out there and candled my broody's one egg- it appears to be as far along as Birds' one egg in my incubator. Close.

It'll be ok Kim. Trust me. I have never lied to you before. You will have them back.
