Well I have ordered security cameras to put up to watch my coops. I went out yesterday morning to find my Cuckoo Marans rooster's door was wide open and he is nowhere to be seen. Somebody stole him. That is the second rooster to be stolen from me. Plus, my feed has been coming up missing, one of my duck dishes full of feed disappeared. I have a real good idea who is doing it, and I sure hope I am wrong, but I have decided to put up security cameras. It's a real shame when someone has to go to those measures. There is absolutely no way that door opened on it's own. It is a house door and you have to turn the handle in order to open it.

Sooo, a person is is messing with your chickens?? Shame on them.. Nova going to do the Vaseline on big boy today, can't hurt! 14 eggs? Yea! I only got 4 yesterday, all new young hens so guess they aren't consistent yet? My big boy rooster is acting aggressive since I put the new americauna in pen next to him. Think I may have to do something better, he acted a little aggressive before but now he is getting more so! Any suggestions? Hope everyone has a great day, we have rain coming in again for next few days, I'm sick of RAIN!!

Morning Robin, Sorry you are going to have to go through that. Rotten son of a biscuit eater! Apparently there aren't enough roo' s listed here and there on CL. Let's just hope he didn't wind up soup. If they took him because he was hungry, think I would of taken a few hens for future breakfasts.

I can't press charges until I get proof, hence, the cameras. If I catch him on camera he will go to jail. Chicken theft is still like horse theft. He will be dealt with appropriately. But what hurts the most is he is suppose to be a close friend of mine. I don't have anything I wouldn't give a friend if they asked. Not steal from me.

They say that it's usually the close ones who do the worst. Perhaps he's doing it this way because he don't think you really know, (or will have the brass to press the issue) Everyone knows that you do a no-kill program. Really sucky on his part. He can go to the dang store to get some chicken, don't have to take out yours.
