Fuzzy's Farm

Hi everyone.
Rusty, I've been covering my face with a scarf wrapped around my head. Nova, I don't know if the heat pad would work, but I wear at least 3 layers when I work. Gigi, I have an inhaler for when breathing becomes an issue. Thing is, I only developed the asthma issue about 3-4yrs ago after I had a bleach incident. Doctor at the time gave me the inhaler, told me to use aleve to reduce the inflammation in my lungs and sent me for an x-ray. She then told me she didn't think there would be any long term problems that would arise from it. Yeah. It took a few months before I didn't have to use the inhaler on a regular basis, but here I am years later and when I am weakened by sickness/lack of sleep or when it's really cold out, I have issues and have to use it. So needless to say, the doctor was wrong.

Nova and Fuzzy, sorry for your roo troubles.
Robin, he's a cutie. You have got to be crazy busy between the bottle babies and work.

Asthma is NO fun and not something you should mess around with. I had it all the time when I was young then it stopped until just the last year. Now, if I don't use the Flovent preventative (that is miracle stuff) it comes on when I'm working out in the cold. I think anytime you damage your lungs you are going to have problems later. I actually give our baby goat Vitamin E as he had pneumonia when he was really little and coughs a lot. It and Vit C are supposed to do wonders for damaged lungs. I imagine the same thing holds true for humans (maybe?). I think maybe I'm going to start taking Vit E and see if it helps.

That's exactly right, Nova. Every year except this year that I've gotten the flu vaccine I've gotten sick. I don't think I'm going to get it next year.

I'll check on the vitamin c & e, Gigi.
Nova, I've actually been thinking of starting up omega 3's. Didn't know they did that. What's the other one?

My DH had that time problem tonight, too. He came out to the kitchen and was surprised it was already 8:22. He thought it was 7:22. Don't know why, but his computer is an hour behind.

B6 is supposed to help fight against asthma
Magnesium, B vitamins, zinc, A, iron, C are all good fighters against it.
Echinacea is a natural antibiotic and builds the immune system... should be taken 3 times daily (I like cold care tea with echinacea)
Lavender oil rubbed on the chest will reduce spasms

I will never get a flu shot... I actually feel bad I vaccinated my son... I wish I would not have.
I did not get him the MMR or chickenpox vacs though and I stand by my decision on that.

I ordered another doll kit! The same one because he is on sale!
I hope I can have a bunch of goodies made before March 2 because my MIL and I have a booth at a sale of somesort...
I think I will ask $150 for the doll... I have seen many go for a lot more than that!!!
I let my son play with it for a while today and he is so funny with it! He has a few dolls (my sis is 14 years younger than me and she handed down a few. Plus, I bought him a BOY doll that could pee in the pot... to help teach him... not convinced it helped, not sure it didn't either) Anyway, so he knows how to hold and burp a baby, feed and change... He will be a good big brother one day!

I put a glass of water in my brooder to see if the temp was right and it was a little high when I checked so I raised the light a little more and replaced the glass with a lower bowl to try to get a more accurate reading of what the egg temp would be.
I learned while glueing eggs to a progect I made (blown out eggs) that when I put the HOT glue on one side of the egg... the WHOLE egg became super hot!!! The shell is a great conductor!!!

Will I have to worry about the chicks being able to get out if the shells are really thick? I guess they are not too bad but they are for sure tough lil eggs!!!

Your birds are getting more treats than mine this winter!!! I haven't been spoiling as much; since i have to make such a big drive now that i'm at mom's, it's eating into my profits. :( I am seriously contemplating making the switch back to factory though. Have seen some that pay about the same, but would be full time instead of part time! Lots of drama still going on that i haven't graced you all with. Last one where my boss got loud and said things that were just plain wrong and could have gotten her fired had i said something, but ............... almost walked out, and my heart isn't there anymore since. Still hanging on though so far.

Snow is coming down pretty good out there. So glad I don't have to work today, but I did have to go with DH this morning to pick our car up from the mechanic. With all the white on the ground and in the air, it made it hard to see the road. And our road is drifting from the wind so you can't really tell where the sides are from the fields so I had to drive down the middle of what I perceived to be the road.

Be careful if you have to go out today.
