hmm..according to chicken math i only have 2 hens and since they are both tiny i only have one right lol i think i need some more too ...

sprry you had a bad day !!! mine are leaving me alone tonight and i didnt evne ask them too .... maybe i gave the glare without realizing it

Oh and can't for get. My hen that got attacked by the hawk last year went broody. Now she is attacking my hand. That's gratitude!
Nova the ones I have in the bator are Lavender Australorps, Lemon Orps and bbs orps. More blue and splash and lemons coming!

OMG for real???? Lemon??? That is a VERY rare color in the US, ranks in there with chocolate! Now i really wish i could have some!!!! My rooster was a poor man's version of lemon, with his gold hackles...... the pics i have seen of them look identical, and the hens are gorgeous as well!

Are the orps english or US? English orps have big loose feathers all over, and their "petticoats" cover to their ankles (fancy word for butt fluff, ha ha ha) US ones have tight feathers on their bellies and pretty much the same butt fluff as any other bird, legs are bare. If they are english, i may want one of some kind of color for a companion for my hope, she's such a NICE girl but my other birds are sigh.......just birds. She don't really fit in with them, same problem i had with her mom. She needs another really kind friend, i have heard that english orps were bred with personality in mind as well!

(Or if you have a runty, kind, and picked on orloff, Robin! I wouldn't mind having one of those for a companion pet either! )

Well, talks have commenced, and DH and i are looking at renting a house now; I found one that is a lot more than I/ we were going to spend, but it's just out of the city and MAY be a place i could have birds............... but if i did it wouldn't be many, because it's basically right next to another house...... Sparta.

still having my pink, either way. XP (One good thing about DH is he's never tried to control me, no such thing anyway, LOL) It has a garage to help corral his clutter........

Good morning Nova, Tee, Rusty, backyard mom, Gigi, Silver, Fuzzy, did I leave anyone out? If so my appoligys! Anyway, I've got 11 baby chicks, one of the cooka marinas didn't make it. but I think 11 out of 13 eggs is good! Now I'm going to have to have another new coop! Yea!! They are all doing great. Mamas are still in attack mode! They are evil twins right now. One white leghorn hatched out and one cooka Marian so my bantams have two much larger chicks! It funny seeing the tiny chicks then these much bigger two in there with them! Of course we all know they are going to be quite a bit bigger than others! Everyone have a great day, watch out for those scammers they are everywhere. Hope everyone feels better soon. And I know everyone is excited that has new chicks or eggs coming! Congrats to all....

Morning all!!! Got my temp steady in my bat or and my eggs are cooking along...all the chicks are chirping away this morning..loud and demanding lol

That is a great hatch rate savannah !!! Yay on move to have chickens fuzzy!!!! And no going back to bed nova lol

Hi everyone. Another rainy day. Another day spending it all wet. BUT I have tomorrow off so no day long wet for me.

Savannah, that was a really good hatch you had. Last year, my little bantam hen sat on 13, but only 2 hatched out so yours was great.
