Savannah, wouldn't straw be cheaper down there? I know it is up here. But we have a lot of wheat straw. Hay is real high. On the farm we had had we used the starw for bedding for just about everything

Goodness me! All of you are swimming!!!!
My driveway is a lake... but it always is. It was an ice arena this winter. We will have to scrape up some big bucks to get gravel for it again... it is nothing but mud/dirt/lake.
I am going to candle on Sunday. That will be day 7-9 for Shawarma's eggs. (Not really sure how to count it. She started sitting Thursday and I gave her eggs Friday and Saturday) I hope they are doing good cookin under that mama!!!!
I am up late crafting and watching Hunger Games. I am so disappointed that they changed so much in the movie. It is a good movie, but I wish it would have stayed true to the book. They could have even split it up into 2 movies and could have gotten 5 movies out of the series.
I pictured president Snow to look a lot different as well.

Fuzzy - after my Orloff hen gets off these Silkie eggs she's on I am getting rid of them if you are interested. I only have one hen and a Roo. I lost the other hen this winter. I am cutting waaay back on my breeds of birds. Want to do mostly my silkies. All my Marans are leaving too. I am keeping my Welsummers and my polish and my bantams but just about every other breed will be leaving. I also have a trio Golden Campines that will be re-homed.
I am starting over with different breeds too i gave all my ee s to my brother and starting up with bunch of serema and random banties then marans jgs silkies and mille de fleur duccles ...
The final count down on all the eggs...
31 phoenix, with the possible Ohiki mixed in
4 White Yokos
7 White Jap Bantams
4 WC Bantam Polish that Robin is going to put in her bator.
They are set in egg cartons, fat end up on the counter. They are fresh fresh, so they can sit for a few days no problem, but I expect they'll be in the bator as soon as I get it home and its up to temp. SOOOO EXCITED! Again. I am an Uber dork on this.
Savannah... I hate the smell of wet straw... ick. LOL, though I think I may end up getting a few flakes just because it is such a mud pit right now.
It quite raining here this morning near 9 am. I hope it continues to NOT RAIN for a few days. There is almost a water free path now to the coop. I have to go around some things to get to it, like between my LP tank and the fence, but, it's a lot better than last night. A lot of the water has finally drained to the pond in Mrs. Browns side yard, and soaked in. The other neighbor across the street has also had quite a significant lessening to their lake. It is not longer touching the stream. The stream is down a bit, but... Still flowing pretty good.
