Fuzzy's Farm

DS mentioned an earache on Sunday. He didn't mention it today unless he heard someone say something about it.
I think it might have been brought on because I tried to wean him off of his cold medicine too early and he plugged right back up.
I heated a rice pillow and used a vibrating toothbrush behind his ear to break up the gunk that might be in there. I, also, gave him some ibprophine to decrease any swelling in the tubes.
He woke up fine... as far as I could tell...

This past spring he got an earinfection and it really hurt him.

Last time I waited to long to take him thinking I could home remedy it... I felt like the worst mother in the world!

So tomorrow we go to the doctor to see what she thinks.

I love how my clothes smell when they come in off the line!

I have an ill pullet. One of the silver laced, well I think she's more a pencil... Well anyway, she is not eating, hunched into herself. I smelled her breath for sour crop, it does feel squishy, but again not eating. So? No sour smell. My nose however does hurt. No pasty butt. Her comb has changed color, wattles have gotten quite big. Checked for an egg, nothing there. She is at POL though. I do not think worms are the prob, and she's critter free. Comb does not seem the right color either. Not pale, but not red. Weird color... I did get a new egg the other day, but it was not from her... Was a whitish. Either that or my silkie laid two eggs again. But it wasn't shaped like hers. So if it was the pullets, the timing would match up... Oh, hatchery dottes can be such a hassle. No other birds are ill. Ideas?

As for vouching for fuzzy's coop, she does keep it very very neat.

BYFM, do you make the actual doll as well?

I have found that my chicken prefer their food to be super wet... which makes my job harder... keeping the food fresh.
They also prefer medicated feed over non... figure that one out!

But I shouldn't feed medicated feed to chickens that will be laying soon, right?
What do I do when I have to get layer feed and I still have a bunch of younger guys and gals running around?
Why are there so many options??

Is there a difference between flock raiser and multi flock? Or are they the same thing?
Nova did you see my new lil coop I want to get?

I have the chicken-itis so bad! I found 3 BO HENS that are laying on CL... I wants!
