Oh and I forgot about Hop-a-long... I have a hen that has bumble toe. Yup, on the toe. Makes for very difficult treating. The bumble POPPED! It was so red and swollen, and I feel absolutely horrible for the girl. She is also one of the vicious girls. Ripped the tails out of the last trio of cockerels I had processed because they were too close. Anyway, so, I caught her butt to look at her foot, and the color is nice and healthy. She hops along keeping it up, so it is staying pretty clean. There is just no way to put a bandage on it unless I duct tape it... I am afraid then it'd get damp, and I read a few places that bumble foot is worse in damp conditions. Anyway. Will just keep an eye on her for infection. So far, so good.

I have an ex SIL who had a car accident when she was in her young 20's. She got t-boned by a pick up truck. Both hips were broken. She used to say after her accident when ever anything was going crappy, or just plain tough, "I'm a woman. I can take it." I never forgot that, and when I think about it, she's right. Cuz there ain't nothing worse than a weak whiney woman who can't take it.

That's what my son used to call him too LOL. He has been Sam every since he came here and that is the name he knows.
