least the sf are in the other brooder and it was good and dry and everyone safe when we checked .. most of the ones in the brooder that has the bad luck are my NN x hatches my very first hatchlings .. and then the cochins i just got

Oh, I am so sorry. We just lost 3 chickens yesterday to a dog attack. Man, you talk about AWFUL! Feathers, gore, blood and limbs all over the yard. Of course, 2 of them died from broken necks. The other one was completely gutted! I know how it feels to lose a chicken/chick. We have lost a total of over 15 chickens.

checked baby .. lost another one  but looks like he/she got caught in wire rather than drowned ...rechecked tarp and praying that one is the only other casualty ...

Ah, sorry chickenfan. My dogs are my chickens enemy... I hate losing chickens to them. I hate losing them worse to raccoons.

Ok ladies eith SoCCL gone our goal of 1,000 pages of posts lost alot of progress. I want more chicken talk! We only have 9,441ish pages to go and we only have like 3 months!!! Lol joking of course...So today I went to see Bob(junglefowl Roo) and he spanned his wings out in a hostile way. So I scooped up the lil bastage and held him upside down by the legs... after a second he stopped fussing I set him down and he didnt want any problems after that... Lil bugger!

Im thinking this is definitely the last batch in that one ... if rain keeps up tommorow they may be squeezed back into the little brooder til it passes so we can do some major redesigning ...
